Reno golf

I am going to be in Reno in early June and will have about a 6 hour window and am looking to play. Does anyone have any insight on decent courses in the Reno area?

As far as public play there are three courses I would still happily play (prices are off memory):

1. Wolf Run Golf Course 45-65$
2. Lakeridge Golf Course 50-70$ (home of the most famous golf hole in the locality, a 240 yard par 3 to an island green with a 150 yard descent).
3. The resort at red hawk. This resort has two courses which are switched daily, one for members, one for public play.


If you can lengthen the 6 hour window there are some breathtaking tracks just inside California at truckee. Greys crossing, schaffers mill, old greenwood and Tahoe Donner are some spectacular alpine mountain golf spots.

Thank you! a buddy and i fly in at 10am and have to pick up our friend at 5am, so it sounds like we might have enough time to drive to Truckee and then back to the airport!

Lakeridge was great so was Redhawk and at Lakeridge do they still sell the picture from the tee looking down on the green titled Reno's most scenic drive

I'm not sure if they sell that picture -I would guess they would maybe. It is quite a hole.

10-5 may be a stretch to get up and down to truckee especially waiting to pick up a rental car etc...I'd make the friend wait and I'd play Schaffers Mill. It's wonderful, but it's expensive.

Also Coyote Moon near Truckee is a fun track.

You can get to Edgewood Tahoe in an hour. It's expensive, but it's top quality. My understanding from quite a few folks is that it's better than anything else up there open to the public. I also hear from friends that Old Greenwood is very good, but I have never been there myself.

red hawk is your best bet. If you have time and connections, Montreaux is very nice.

I played arrow reek a few years ago and enjoyed it. Not sure of the conditions now.

I played wolf run and red hawk last year. I'd for sure play one of the courses at red hawk over wolf run.

I like genoa resort course. Cold as balls in the morning, warms up real well by 10.
