Help fix my crummy swing

Looking for some help with my swing. I know I was over reaching on my back swing and bending my left elbow on the back swing also. My biggest issue is that I tend to push the ball right. I am around a 25 handicap I would guess.

You are doing the same thing I was doing. I'm not in any position to give advice, but I'll tell you what the pro told me...
- you look too steep, swing flatter and wider.
- Stick your butt out more and lower your hands
- keep your head still in the back swing and don't sway
Lastly and my advice, go see a pro!

Much appreciated. I think honestly even high handicap golfers like me can see the things wrong in other swings but the problem occurs when trying to find our own faults. I thank you for the things you said, my biggest thing I think going through my head now is the whole swing plane issue. I know I want to swing flatter like you said but then the thought's going through my head during the swing causing my to over analyze.

And I am definitely going to see a pro soon. Planning on picking up a set of 3 lessons from my local golf galaxy here. Wanted to get a few games under my belt for the season before going in but this weather has not been helping my case

Again, thanks for the input, in my opinion the advice from a third party is the best kind, at least with the golf swing.

No prob... I still have a hard time visualizing the swing plane too when I'm swinging. But what helps me is NO BALL! just stand there and swing. Bring it back, look, head back on point and swing through. Also straight left arm going back, swing, straight right arm on follow though.

For me on follow through I have to literally swing out to the left. When you get there you'll know. Last night I was hitting effortless and consistent 160yd 7 irons. But I still am working on keeping my head still, while transferring weight, and not bending in my left knee... All back swing stuff.

So, just a quick update, followed your butt out point with a few other tips I have been reading about and... I was hitting a 99% draws out of 30 swings with a driver and 3 wood. I had to almost switch to a week grip to hit a straight shot, that is how much having my butt out, keeping my lower body quiet and keeping the good old arm triangle helped me.

Even though the butt out advice is simple, the effect it makes on your posture is amazing. Sure, I probably looked weird standing straight up then throwing my butt back but hey, the long draw shots speak for themselves

Yup, its amazing that the whole stick your butt out helps line everything up. Gets the back straight instead of being hunched over like I was in those videos.

Will do as long as the weather cooperates with me. I am planning on playing a few 9 hole courses this weekend but should be able to hit the range too.

OK its already been said but before you do anything you have to start with basics and work on your setup. I disagree with the comment on your swing being too steep. It's actually flat so don't start flattening it anymore otherwise you will start pushing it more. Nice swing! Your best advice will come from getting a lesson though.
