Matrix Hybrid Shafts comparison

Hi,

 

I've been reading post after post to find out what Matrix hybrid would have characteristics that I'm looking for. But the posts were relevant to the one specific shaft so it is hard to get a grasp.

 

First, What I'm looking for.

1. 7M3 like hybrid shaft for 19' hybrid: this one is easy. HM3, or Black Tie Altus
   
2. Looking for a Mid trajectory/Mid spin shaft for 22' hybrid: This one is hard..
   

There are bunch of out there such as White Tie HX3, Matrix Ozik Altus White, or Red, Matrix Ozik Xcon Altus,..

Has anyone experienced those shafts and would like to share your insight?

 

Currently, Tour Issue Project X shaft 6.0 are in my hybrids.

Driver SS: 105-108 with 7M3 Stiff <--love the shaft and would like to suit the rest of woods/hybrid with Matrix shafts.

I had a good exchange with Matrix today about hybrid shafts and they shared pretty detailed spec information to me. I got permission to share. Its a spreadsheet. If you want it - PM me and I will email it to you. Guess there also might be new hybrids coming out in August.

Based on what you are asking for in your descriptions above:
HM3 for your 19*
OZIK XCON Altus Black Tie for your 22* if your swing is somewhat aggressive, XCON Altus if you are a smooth non-aggressive swinger, or the Kujoh if you could use a touch more spin than "mid" with keeping the "mid" launch characteristic.

How about Radix-9 for 22* hybrid?

I havent had time to look at the spec info too much...stupid day job. But I am looking for a couple shafts that have similar specs to the stock tfc189 in my g25 hybrids. The matrix shafts just have a smooth feel to me. Love em! Wish they made a Matrix RUL in a hybrid shaft!

I find the characteristic of shaft is same thru-out same model, not by same manufacturer. For Matrix, I tried Ozik HD6 and literally hated it. Now with 7M3, I already sold all my driver shafts (4) and acquired another one for 3 wood. But type of shots that I'm expecting from a club is different. That's why I'm trying to get some feedback on other models of Matrix.

Basically,
Driver: Low Launch/Low Spin (would like to have High Launch/Low Spin also)
3 Wood: Low Launch/Low Spin (Since I use 3 wood more on tee then fairway)
19 Hybrid: Low Launch/Low Spin (Mainly, I use this club for positioning on Par 5)
22 Hybrid: Mid Launch/Mid Spin (Like to use it as 'Hybrid', sometime as wood, sometimes as iron such is for +200 yards Par 3 holes).

Can I be a Matrix endorsed tour player so that I can test all their shafts and pick what I like for each club? No.. Then... Being as a avg. salary man with 2 kids and a wife who understand my love of game but don't quiet understand why I'm spending $ to find a dream setup, my best bet would be shaft specification sheet and, most importantly, Input/feedback from WRXers who played Matrix shafts.

So how does Radix HD 9 play?

Radix HD 9 will float in more than the Altus red, which would be my #1 recommendation. Pick the same flex as your driver shaft but tune with tipping - undertip for higher flight, tip to spec for mid-flight and firmer feel. You could go Altus Black Tie if you wanted a heavier sensation, but the Altus red is the default choice, and I see no reason not to go with that. Radix 9 has a beautiful flight, but more limited in application.
