any good course near San antonio /Fiesta Texas? I'm going there tomorrow with the woman and would like to get a round in. Any suggestions.?

We've been told the querry, westin resort and marriot golf are these any good or wouls you recommend something else?

Those are three of the nicer courses in town. That's a pretty good list!

My family and I have taken multiple trips down to SA to play the La Cantera courses and we continue to return. The Resort course is my personal favorite but the Palmer course is also very nice and a bit more challenging. The Resort course is actually one of my favorites I have ever played. I have heard good things about TPC as well but have never played there as we always stay at the Westin. Have also heard it's often not fun for many golfers as the difficulty level is extremely high so take that for what it's worth. In my opinion you can't go wrong with the courses at La Cantera and if you have the oppurtunity you should play them both!

The Quarry is on the other side of town from Fiesta Texas. It's a fun public track, but not close. The front 9 is ground level and can catch a breeze, but the back 9 is in the old quarry and can be sweltering.

La Cantera is ok and it is right there next to Fiesta Texas though. In fact, a couple of the holes overlook the park.

Brackenridge Park is a muni over by The Quarry. Oldest public course in Texas I believe. Designed by A.W. Tillinghast. Good for a muni. (I wouldn't bother with any of the other munis.)

J.W. Marriot is the TPC with the Oaks and Canyons courses. Also not close, but closer than The Quarry and Old Brack.

There is also the Hyatt Hill Country course, but I haven't ever played that one.

Thanks guys, we made out reservation at TPC, I heard the oaks is more challenging of the two. The second course is under rrnovations but still playable.

Headed to San Antonio next weekend myself, do you have to stay at the JW Marriott to at the TPC courses? Just curious as we are staying down on the Riverwalk.

We stayed there last night. They have a guest section for people staying and I saw a private membership area. VERY nice place hotel amd courses. Today were staying at the westin inn

Fyi the palmer course at la cantera (westin inn) is just sick! I LOVE the 18th hole.

Yes sir! I par'd that hole. I was mid fairway and hit the green. It was a good feeling, especially whem you don't know who's looking.
