Golf in Sac

Hey Wrxer's, The wife and I are finally going on our honeymoon after 10 years. We are going to be passing through Sac and I'm looking at Golf courses that I can play. Can anyone fill me in on Bing Maloney and Bartley Cavanaugh. They will be the closest to where we'll be staying so that is why I'm looking at them. Is there something better for the price? Thanks for any help

I have never played Bing Maloney but have played Bartley Cavanaugh and it is a little short (depends on what tees you normally play). I played the blues and my dad played the whites. It's a fun course, not overly difficult and they have a TPC #17 like hole (it's short though). The day we played it started raining lightly on hole 13 and didn't let up even though it was warm:

Oh, you can also go play Alister Mackenzie's course at Haggin Oaks... It's basically a muni but has his name on it...

Thanks, I like the look of that green. Is that really what it looks like? Haggin has some length? Pretty challenging?

Yeah, that's really what it looks like.

Haggin has a few holes with some teeth to it, but overall not a real tough course. Hole 11 is a par 5 with a grove of trees kinda in the middle-left side of the fairway protecting the small green. Is a tough one to hit if you ever want to try and go for it in two at 540 yards from the "cream" tee boxes, 596 from Burgundy, and 631 from the blacks.

Dang, now I'm torn now. Bartley is closer to where I'm staying and that green is intriguing. But Haggin has history and seems like it would be a challenge of straight and long! I'm excited either way though.

Nah, i have to play at 6am and be done in time for us to drive down to LA. We have to leave town by 11. It'll probably come down to a coin flip. thanks for the help though. Either way it seems like I'll have fun.
