Useful for irons?

We all know about the benefits of a lauch monitor fitting for drivers, but how much does it help when getting fit for a set of irons?

I'm looking to purchase a set of irons next month (either MP-60s or TM LT2s) and can get a launch monitor fitting for $100. The retailer will credit $50 of that cost toward the purchase of equipment. Other than swing speed, which will help determine shaft flex, what can be learned for iron fitting?

I'm currently a 7 handicap, been playing for 32 year and still improving. It's a never ending quest to get to a low handicap rating that, one day, I won't be able to maintain?!? (and my wife wonders why I drink)

It helped me pick out a set of irons that worked really well for me. The ones that I had wanted to buy (Pings, Callies) just didn't perform as well. Since I've taken them out on the course, real world feedback seems to indicate I got the right ones.

During my fitting, the most interesting part was consistency with a club, tight groupings, etc. I was spraying the Big Berthas all over the place (cool)
