yeah right now i have a nike 5 wood with a v2 shaft, i never thought that i would ever buy a nike club but its a great club. I am thinking about getting the t3 but i would like to hear about it first.

I thought that this was a thread on the taylormade burner fw not nike fw's. I also want to hear some more info about the burner

I'll leave all the comments regarding TM policies and relative resale values alone for others to argue :-) but......

You might want to look at my little review that I added August 7th. I really liked the std high launch fairways with the stock 49gram R shafts a lot. One of the best newer fairways available IMHO and I have tried most everything made ......

I bought one last week. The 15* 3 wood in R stock shaft. I have a TEE CB2 that is great off the tee but I can't hit it off the fairway. I also have gamed a Titleist 906f4 that is better off the deck than the TEE, but this new Tour Burner 3 wood is AWSOME. It has a shallow face that works great from the fairway. To hit it off the tee just make sure you tee it very low. Slightly more forgiving from the deck than the Tiltleist, although that's a great club as well. I just happen to like the Tour Burner better. Nice smooth swing and with the mass of the clubhead it gets out nicely around 215-220 and STRAIGHT. I don't care about workability with a 3 wood; I'm not that good. I would highly recommend the 3 wood.

i'm playing the burner tour fairway t5 in 17.5* and it's about 10 yards longer for me. i'm coming from a higher spin r7 titanium fairway 5 wood 18*, so i can only compare these two clubs. the t5 will launch a tad lower, but its trajectory is still fairly high, no balloons though, whereas i would get some ballooning problems with the r7 titanium. the t5 feels nice when struck well.

so nobody's hit the low launch versions yet t3, t5?

I've just picked up a Tour launch rescue 4 (22 degree's) and am trying it out over the next week or so. Also had a brief trial last week of both the High and Tour launch 3 woods (Tour = 14.5 degree/High = 15.0) and to be honest didn't really gel with either. The larger headed high launch was great off the tee and so-so off the deck, the Tour launch was the opposite.

Was really hoping one of those would be able to bump into the revolving three wood section of my bag!!!

I've been playing the t3 and t5 for a couple of months and I think they're awesome. Got the 80 gram reax shaft in them in stiff and I can hit them high, low, off a tee or the ground with ease. First fairway woods ever I've felt so comfortable with.

The t5 (17.5) plays more like a 4-wood. Boring traj., about 220 yards of carry for me (SS 100-105 with driver). The t3 is outstanding off the tee, good for about 240 usually, very easy to hit w/o looking bulgy.

Like these so much I picked up a new 20-degree tour burner hybrid. LOVE it. The smaller one with the 85-gram shaft (hard to find!). Outstanding accuracy and distance control, 205-210 every time. My titleist 19 degree was longer but had a shaft about an inch longer as well. Really like the shorter shaft, it's more like the length of a 3-iron shaft. But beware of the 50-or 60-gram shafts, I can't see how you could control these.

I am playing the High Launch, non tour models. I wanted them to have a 3 and 5 wood where I can it it nice and high for long approach shots.

The Bad---The stock 49 gram shaft. Seriously??? In a FW???? I hated these shafts and could not get them yanked out quick enough. The 49 gram shaft did cause ballooning, but a shaft change took care of that issue.

The Good---Everything else. Very easy to hit off the tee or off the deck. Very consistent with the right shaft. With the Rombax in it, I can hit a very piercing ball. I am not hitting these very long though. I am hitting the 3 about 230-235 yards, and the 5 about 215. I have hit other 3 woods longer (Titleist 906f2 being the most recent). However, I did not get these for length. I got them for accuracy and ball control. I am able to hit these into a green where they stay on the green. Other 3 woods I have been able to crush (for me that means 245-250 off the deck), but the ball flight was very low and it would hit and run over a green. I could not go for a 3 wood over a lake because I did not have enough of a ball flight. These are easy to hit. Now I have a 3 and 5 wood that I can count on every single time. I would rather have the consistent ball flight that these offer over the extra 15-20 yards that other 3 woods would offer.

The Ugly---These are made by the Darkside; I am sure that their replacement will be out within the next week or two.
