My New Mil Spec 350g

What is the next step?
I picked up this Mil Spec prior to a poker game this week. I got it for a very reasonable price and then won more than my money back in the poker game.

This putter has been reshafted and is now 35" long. The original finish shows wear and is non-existent in a few small places. Needless to say it is time for an overhaul. the question is, "where do I send it?"

Right now I am thinking of sending it back to Cameron and having the complete restoration done with no custom options, $145.00 plus shipping. I have previously sent a 340g Mil Spec back to Scotty and had a number of custom options done, so thinking this time just go back to original. It is doubtful that I will game this putter, I will either add it to my stable of 50 putters or find someone who has a great desire for this putter.

I know a lot of members have used people other than Scotty for a make-over, so just looking for your thoughts.

I have to disagree with this, If you look the mil spec is going for under 200 dollars on ebay, 150 dollars at cameron puts you almost there already plus whatever you put into the putter, I would say get it done by some one else maybe with a different finish as you already have one milspec. i would look into lamonte or colbert putter plating or BOS as i have good things from all of those three, ofcourse this is just an opinion, you might like the different look, and it would be cheaper than anything the cameron shop would do, I am sure the cameron shop does a great job, but unless that putter holds sentimental value or something i dont think it would be worth it IMHO, enjoy it though

item number 110349037278 on ebay, It was done by BOS, looks like they did a great job and its different than the original finish that is on there, although i think they can do the same finish if you wanted

The ones that are going for $150 are used and beat up. If he gets it refinished the value will increase and be worth more than those

send it cameron. other people who send a cameron putter somewhere else are just not very smart

May I ask why "not very smart"? So you think sending to SC, get refinish with an expensive tag ($145) and get a stamp to show everyone it's a redo is smarter than sending it to guys like Lamont or Colbert who will do the same if not better job for way less? FYI, I have a Mil-spec that was done by BOS, which is where SC send their redo out for black oxide finish. I'm pretty sure I paid less than going the SC route.

One thing that BOS or any other refinisher does not supply that Cameron does is a new grip, cover, and shaft.

If it's been gamed long enough to need a refinish and has a non-OEM shaft, you might as well send it to a non-Scotty refinishing facility. It will be much cheaper and the work is just as good. If it were a collector's putter, it would certainly be worth sending back to Scotty. That 350g MilSpec is my all time favorite off-the-rack Camerons.
