Coeur D'Alene

Anyone played the course?
Ever since playing Coeur D'Alene in Tiger Woods PGA Tour, I've been pretty, well, obsessed with playing the course for real. Their website is first-class (though the course tour is being updated), and the packages seem very reasonable ($259 for one night and two rounds of golf!). They even have a spa and child care facility so the wife and son won't be left out.

Has anyone played the course? Is it worth making the trek from PA to Idaho? Heck, how do you even get there?

Thanks in advance!

I had a friend who was getting married in Spokane, WA (but called it off, long story). I was planning on playing the course since it is about 40mi from the city center of Spokane, that is where you would fly to I'd imagine and take the short drive over. I never got to play obviously, but my friend had played there and said it was good, but you can see the highway more often during the round than you think. Looking at this Google Earth image, I can see what he means. Who cares though, TW2004 makes that place look unreal. I'd go to satisfy my curiosity if I were you.

I played it...it was a blast both times and the caddies are great...it is gorgeous but definately a resort course (it was really really easy) It is a blast and the city is fun. I even went parasailing and that was really fun also

I would recommend it as a vacation, and there is a restaurant with these smokin hot waiters you should check out :D though I cant remember the name I think it is east of the hotel about 6(?) blocks

I haven't ever played there, but I REALLY want to, just to play this hole:

Sounds like a good deal for a night's stay and 2 rounds for $260. I imagine flights to Idaho are pretty cheap as well. :D

Oh yeah, the floating green is a huge part of why I want to go. If you check out their website, it says that the green changes yardage from day to day, and it's controlled by computer. After your foursome tees off, a putter boat brings you over to the green, you putt out, and they give you a certificate of achievement. They also give you an engraved bag tag after your round.

Oh, and being a resort course, they send your clubs ahead, the ferry you to the course on hand-hewn mahogany boats, and a forecaddie meets you with your clubs all cleaned and ready. What a deal! Like Pebble Beach only not as hard and 1/4 of the price!

The course looks pretty easy even on TW. Of course...when your ability bars are maxed out and you bomb it 340, the course is downright laughable. Last night I shot a 51 or 52!

Definitely sounds like a must-play. I'll be moving to California next summer, that'll make the trip even easier.

It is a good course, and of course it is quite an experience playing an island green. I'm not sure its worth a trip from across the country just to play this course, but if you need to scratch an itch...

To get there, you'd probably fly from PA to Seattle, Seattle to Spokane. Coeur D'Alene is less than an hour from Spokane, I would suggest staying in Spokane because there are a lot of great courses around there too. To get to the course you just hop on I-90 and head East. September is a good month to visit. July is a bit hot, but early June and August are also great times to make the trip.

All in all, I would say if you were in the Washington area, play it. But a trip mainly to play this course, I don't know about that.

I know that area pretty well, so if there is any information you need just let me know.

Big T
