Trackman experts: Based on these numbers, what adjustments should I make?

How'd the numbers and ballflight compare when you [swung to right field in an attempt to straighten out the swing direction]?

Club speed went up, compression was better on average, AoA shallowed a bit, swing plane got slightly more upright, spin went up around 8000rpm.

 

At 8000rpm, I may as well go ahead and sign for an 83.

I like 10-12º with driver.

 

Rahm's 6i is in the 12-13º range, which seems crazy low. None of these guys are up around 20º with 7i, though.

Those were 2 of my best swings during the session. On the course, my contact is generally poor, and I'm just not hitting enough quality shots. In short, I am operating well below my capabilities (and Trackman suggests as much).

 

Also, my wedges have been TERRIBLE lately unless I try to hit them to right field with a big draw. This is much harder to do (with confidence) on little 60 yard partial shots.

Absolutely nothing in these numbers that will point to any issue that would be leading to poor contact. Vsp is a LITTLE flat but that's not a huge issue. Big misunderstanding with trackman is that we can just point to a number and say this is the cause of a bad shot. That is rarely the case....especially for a good shot which these are. A good shot will have good numbers. That's why it's a good shot.

 

The swing direction being almost 7 left is more left than I personally like but if you just play a cut baby cut you should be fine. In order to recommend changes you need video and or 3D data. Without that there is nothing in there that points to any "problems"

Sure you are catching them out of the sweet spot? Spin axis of -8 on the second shot with zero face to path would indicate off-center contact to me. May be where you are losing some ballspeed. Maybe try some powder spray?

I'm just looking at the whole thing like this: I have a 300hp car, but it's only putting out 255hp right now. I at least want it to operate at ~285hp.

 

I was curious to see if anyone noticed any particulars that might suggest obvious leaks or contact issues, but—and this is your point—it doesn't really work this way.

 

I spent some more time on this yesterday. My right arm stays too "connected" (I hate this term in golf instruction) during the backswing, and this leads to my OTT reroute, which results in more toe-side strikes than I would like.

 

For now, I'm just focusing on letting that right arm travel a little more away from my right side. This allows me to feel more leverage and control through transition, so this certainly seems like I'm on the right track.
