CG 10 with (1) Dot or (3) Dots

need help for a friend

Guys,

I have a buddy who is trying to pick up a wedge and the only thing available for him is the CG 10 with 1 dot and 3 Dot in the 56* model. He is leaving for overseas and asked my opinion.

He is around a 14 handicap and is pretty decent ball striker. Which one would better to have all around.

1 dot is low bounce; 3 dots is high bounce, 2 dots is standard/medium.

 

Out of the 2 choices, I would prefer the 3 dots, and a higher bounce sand wedge. Though a 2 dot would be prefered overall. For regular use, I would say the 3 dots may be better for the sand, unless he plays particularly hard sand or courses.

Great all purpose wedge with traditional loft that fits most player types and set combinations

 

56* 3 Dot 18* Bounce 35.25" 64* lie angle D6

This is an extremely versatile wedge for soft conditions and bunker shots.

 

 

Choosing the ideal degree of bounce angle all depends on the type of courses he plays, sand trap conditions and the angle of attack that he takes on the ball.

 

If you believe the Cleveland Website, the 2 Dot/ Standard bounce angle might be the best if you're not sure which will work the best for him. It would the "happy medium" of the three. Personally I like less bounce because I don't' really attack down on the ball and most of the courses I play don't have the thickest roughs or deep sand traps.

it really depends on what he wants to use the wedge for, if he wants it for fairway shots you would proberly go for one dot. if he wants it has his main club to get out off bunkers he would proberly need 3 dot but if he is going to use it for both you would reccomend the 2 dot. The 2 dot is proberly the best option IMO because its very versatile and can be used from all conditions.

i'd go with the 1 dot, 12* one. 12* is a lot for a low bounce. My rac wedge is 14* bounce and its very versatile.

I have both 52 and 56 black pearl in the 2 dot bounce. I bought them direct from the Cleveland Demo Van and had the opportunity to hit all 3 bounces. The 2 dot was the most versatile and is not limited to one condition or another. I would recommend looking at the wedge selection system on Cleveland's website and match it to your playing conditions.
