Miura SIT Driver: thoughts?

Just purchased the above from Chip Usher. Nice guy and was able to answer all my questions. I'm sure this driver will work out. I have not purchased a driver for over 3 years. I have been happy with my current driver but occasionally goes left which is all me.

 

Goal is an all Miura or JDM bag and wanted to get some opinions on this driver and/or shaft. I did the search but it was limited. Doesn't look like many play this driver on this site.

 

My current driver: Titleist 910 D2 Fubuki Tour

 

The new driver: Miura SIT 10.5 Motore F3

 

Thoughts? Experiences?

I have a SIT 9.0 shafted with the new Speeder 661 playing at 45". Very long and forgiving for me. Love the way it looks at address the and shaft is phenomenal. Don't have any plans to sell it any time soon however if you're looking for a JDM driver head there are many better options TBH. If it works for you then no need to look around.

I believe Ryoma drivers have a lot of attention lately.

Personally I play an Epon Zero shafted with a Motore F3 playing at 44.5" lately but when rounds matter I put the SIT back in the bag.

Thanks Kamen for the reply. That's good to know. The driver is shafted at 45.25".

Ryoma and Epon are out of my league. Got a good deal on an almost new driver from Chip.

Can't wit to hit it and practice with it!

Miurai isn't known for their woods but it's not a terrible head or anything. I personally think it's better than most out there in terms of US gear at least; quality and performance-wise. I have it as my main stick and have loved it since first hit. I am sure you will really enjoy it for a long time! Hit it well!

Got the driver, took it out on the range, nice flight with a boring trajectory; a little on the light side.

Hit it on the heel slide and it was still going straight!

Looking forward to playing a round with this club this weekend!

Played 9 holes. Love this driver! It's staying in the bag!

This set up with the Fuji F3 is keeping me from going left which is what I need.

I've had one in my bag since about 3 months before they were released to the public....March 2012....Can't imagine using anything else....long, straight and controllable.

I agree with your last sentence. I had my 910 D2 since it came out and has been in my bag. I was real hesitant on buying this as I have been happy with it. I'm glad I bought the SIT driver and I don't plan on changing my driver for another 4 years

I've enjoyed reading your posts and as you can see below I'm two clubs shy from a full Miura bag like you.

I know you love your SIT 3 and 5 but would love to see a full review like what Reid does on the Miura products.

I hope to get the SIT 5 wood in the future.

I had the Japan version and nothing special even with a nice Mamiya ATTAS 6 shaft. It was too light for me and the face is 1 degree open so I sold mine right away. Not a fan with the driver but the Miura blades that is totally different.

There is no "Japan" version of the SIT drivers....just different graphics and finish.

It felt light for me initially and had a difficult time feeling the club head during my backswing. It was still going straight though! My 910 was a D3.5 and this Miura set up is at D2. However,the lighter set up actually taught me to slow down my backswing. I was going to add some lead tape but for now it is working out great!

The Miura SIT driver is definitely a penetrating trajectory driver - Just need to pay attention to swingweight if building a shorter length driver. It's a light head!

And those special graphics and finish is enough to call it a Japan version of course. The Giken Miura clubs ARE JDM clubs.
