Callaway Kings of Distance Event - A lesson in Boooom with Joe Miller

Recently attended a great event in the UK Hosted by Callaway as part of their Kings Of Distance campaign and managed to capture some video where Joe Miller was giving us a clinic that I thought may be of interest.

 

 

 

Made it into the final with a couple of 300y+ drives with my driver and the xhot i was suggested in the fitting but then failed to get as far in the final... 285y and 270y iirc

 

It didn't help that there were 90 of the people that attended sat behind me, loads of other members from Stoke Park, the longest hitter on the euro tour, 2 other pros and a world long drive champion to my left as I attempted to launch one with a driver that didn't suit me! But a great day and got some great tips.... (Oh and I left a 40 footer 2" short to fail to win a putter of my choice!... just not my day I guess!!)

 

Well done to Callaway for sorting out a great event in the UK!

Sorry to hear you had a bad day in the Callaway Kings of Distance Event, On the other hand, I also competed in a Callaway Kings of Distance event in Houston, TX. The event was awesome especially with the Tour Players signing autographs and showing off for the kids and fans. I qualified in the Speed Regime 3 category at a local Golfsmith store, and even though I like a low degree driver, the Big Bertha Alpha set at 8 degree with the x stiff shaft stock shaft worked pretty well for me since I launched a drive 392 yds. confirmed by Trackman at The Woodlands Country Club. Nicolas Colsaerts was on hand and even had to take a double look at that drive. I hope they have a end of the year Callaway Kings of Distance Event to crown the all-around winner!! My family and I had a blast at their event hope they have more to come.

How do I find where one of these will be that I can go hit?

They are having another Kings of Distance LDC at TopGolf in The Colony, TX tonight!!! Show starts @ 6:00PM I believe. It's being held in conjunction with the Bryon-Nelson to help promote Callaway's new drivers. Wish I could compete in this one, but I already have won a BB Alpha from the Houston Event. Trust me if you have a friend, son, wife, girlfriend, etc. just getting into the game of golf take them tonight to see a show. The pros will not disappoint!! Plus, Its TopGolf!!

Unfortunately I live in Michigan so won't be able to make that one. Hopefully there will be one around here when the tour comes up this way. Do they have you hit the x2hot LD or BB Alpha lofted down as much as possible?

You get to choose the driver of your choice from the Callaway rep, but the BB Alpha was the only one with an x-stiff shaft in Houston. Yes, they did adjust it to your liking in warm-ups which was lofted all the way down for me.
