Masters Tickets and Questions for first time attendee!

Hey guys, just purchases Monday practice round tickets for $150 each off of ebay and wanted to get Tuesday ones as well but am having trouble finding ones for a decent price...

I had a few questions for those who have been there before...

1. Are scalpers tickets available say the morning of or day before? So like Monday or Tuesday in Augusta.

2. What are the prices of scalpers tickets?

3. What is the parking situation there? I know for the PGA Championship and Cnd Opens I've attended you park and they take you in on a bus, is this is case here?

1. Yes to both.....

2. Whatever they feel like charging... I got one couple years back on Tuesday for $45...... but they can be several hundred dollars...

3. You can park inside the "gated" area for free on practice rounds or in people yard or the IHOP close by from $10-25 a day.

Don't forget your camera and/or video camera for practice round days.

 

Tuesday prices should be pretty similar to Monday. Wednesday it begins to go up.

 

Parking is quite easy on practice round days, just pull into the lot.

So do you both think it would be a good idea to NOT spend $200-$300/ticket for Tuesday on Ebay and go with a scalper ticket for say $50-$250?

 

Just try to get luck with two tickets for under $100 each?

 

The Monday tickets are lockup up and paid for so we will have 1 day for sure anyways!

As said before, it's going to be a crap shoot as to whether or not a scalpers price will be where you need it to be. If it were me, I'd go down with the intention of buying Tuesday tickets there from a scalper. I'm sure they'll work with you if you show them the money. Good luck!

Alright booked a hotel in Columbia, SC one hour from Augusta for $100/night which I thought was very very good.

 

Got my Monday tickets coming in the mail, and will go the scalper route for Tuesday's round.

Washington road during the Master's SUCKS. . but I used to love the hustle and bustle of Augusta during Master week. From Columbia, I would get off I-20 at Riverwatch Pkwy toward downtown Augusta and hang a right on Walden Hills and either turn on washington from there or just go straight through and turn left when it dead ends. Heath dr. will get you to Berckman's road almost directly across from a Ga. National parking lot.

I think Columbia is a little more than an hour - see if you can stay in Aiken - much closer...

Been to practice rounds 3 different years. Stayed in Augusta the first trip. Paid big $$$ for a dump. Stayed at a Sleep Inn just off I-20 at Columbia for $90-$100 per night the 2 other times. You are 50min-1hour from Augusta. ....not a bad drive....especially in early morning traffic.

If Tuesday tickets are too high when you get there, wait until about noon or so on Tuesday and catch some folks coming out. A lot of time still left and the used tickets can be purchased real reasonable if you are patient.

I went on Monday during the 2005 Masters. I will give you these tips:

 

1. Get there early, set a chair at the hole you most want to relax at then you can leave it there. You will come back 4 hours later and it will still be there! It was the most amazing thing I had to see to beleive. there is this unwritten rule of respect for other people's stuff. I even saw some people leave their souveniers (sorta stupid).

2. Park close to the souvenier tents, go spend your hundreds there, bring all your stuff out to your car then go back in. The 4 of us spent $1300.00+ between us (I was $225.00). I describe the main tent as organized chaos. There are tons of people there but it flows like a well oiled machine.

3. Bring a good digital camera with lots of memory space.

4. Wear VERY comfortable shoes. We walked the course twice and we were exhausted! The course is VERY VERY VERY deceptive on TV..the course is VERY hilly. If they got snow, #10 would be a hell of a sledding hill!

5. Food is DIRT cheap. I got a snickers and a bottle of water for $2.50 TOTAL!. The Pimento sandwiches sukk..but for $1.50 go for it.

6. Here is your challenge and I bet I will win. Find ONE blade of grass out of place or a weed and if you can show me a pic of it. I bet you will come up empty. I used to work the grounds dept for a high end private course here in MA so I have an idea what it takes to upkeep a course. That is THE most impressive piece of property I ever saw!!

7. Lastly have fun because you might never get back!

Just looking at the quality of hotels, the ones in Augusta that weren't booked and the ones in Aiken all had BAD reviews...like really bad, cockroaches, not clean rooms, flies in the room etc.

 

SO I found a Holiday Inn Express in Columbia which had 12 guest reviews all giving it 5 stars out of 5 stars with great things to say about it!

Does anybody know if you can scalp tickets for any of the days Thurs - Sunday?

 

And if you can, how much did you pay?
