Pensacola - Courses and Leagues

Hi there,

 

I will be moving to the Pensacola area in a month. Can anyone give any experiences with leagues in the area or course recommendations (especially twilight membership deals).

I live here now.. Transplant also...

There is a Thursday league at Marcus Pointe, its so so. They have a good Saturday and Sunday morning game too, lots of good players.

Best twilight rates are going to be at Scenic Hills, after 2 pm its $20, and AC Read (Navy Base).. twilight is $24.

You can get some very good rates on GolfNow for those 3 tracks also.. I recommend that..

Thanks for the advice. I'm looking forward to playing some new courses.

I've been trying to escape New Jersey for a while now. I grew up here near Atlantic City but lived in Florida during my 20's before moving back to NJ.

South Jersey, especially along the shore, has a bunch of really good courses. It is one of the few things I'll miss.

It seems that Marcus Pointe is closing permanently in December of this year. I play Scenic Hills when I am back home in Pensacola but I actually quit playing on that course when I was 17. It has too many houses and out of bounds on almost every hole. For a long hitter like me who doesn't always find the fairway I still find it frustrating. You can get good rates on mine and Bubba's old high school course ....Tanglewood in Milton and Stonebrook in Pace.

Marcus Pointe is still up and running. I played it over the Holidays and the course was in pretty decent shape. Of course I didn't play after the torrential downpours... :shok:
