Non-conforming drivers?

This year I played my first non-conforming driver. A Romaro HX460 gold. I was very happy with this club. I didn't see a big gain in distance, but I swing under 90mph. I think the gains in NC are diminished in slower speed players.

 

Only problem has been, I hit this driver way too high, with way too much spin. I think I would have gained alot more out of it, if I could get the right launch and spin. I've tried a couple of reshafts already.

 

Does anyone that plays NC have any other recommendations? You here alot about Ryoma, but not sure if I believe the hype in this case. It's expensive hype as well. I don't mind spending a few bucks more that USD, but these are really high. Looking for more distance as the main objective.

Can you give me any details? Have you played it for long?

It's a 2014 model, fully customizable from the factory. That's all I know. I can say RC clubs are always long, you may want to take a look at their site. Personally I am not a big fan of Ryoma at all.

No, I'm still gaming it, but now that it's Fall here in the Northeast, the course is soft, plus cool and windy, so my tee shots are suffering. If I can replace it though, it'll be up for grabs.

Re shaft it with a fujikura platinum in r flex....should just need a lower launching lower spin shaft.....if your ss is 85-90 that should work well if lower I'd look at a lighter low launch with a stiff tip and high kick point....several good options to choose from...Rombax platinum reg flex is like a stiff/regular in graphite design though.

Had the same problem with my ryoma special tuning...put the Rombax platinum r flex in and it's unbelievably long...longer than my brand new maxima st...couldn't disagree more with the ryoma h8ers....their drivers don't feel quite as good as epon or others but the just flat perform...most forgiving drivers available...pm me if you're interested in trying one, I have 3 and would like to move 1 to a nice home...
