Charter has not renewed Golf Channel contract!

If you are Charter cable customer, call them immediatley and let your voice be heard. Ask them to send a coorespondance to their management and threaten to cancel your account if they discontinue the golf channel from their line up!!

I just called and got P.O.'d with them because I spoke to three different people and none of them spoke clear english. They all had such a heavy accent I couldn't understand them. I will be totally P.O.'d if my golf channel drops off the face of the earth the week of the Masters!

They said the Golf Channel went up on their price and Charter is weighing the extra cost versus the people calling to complain to see if it is worth it.

So if you know anyone with a charter account, please have them call or call for them.

I was told by the people at Charter that the Golf Channel is owned by Comcast Cable, and that they were negotiating a new contract. The scrolling warning that is seen at the top of the Golf Channel on Charter is actually being generated by Comcast. It seems like a squeeze play by Comcast to get more money out of Charter....I also called to voice my displeasure by calling the number scrolling on the screen and no one at Charter could help me and transferred me to the Customer service...Couldnt understand "Grace" with her accent ....seems like most customer service nowdays is directed overseas....Looks like I will be looking at a sat dish soon ! Interesting to me is that if Charter doesnt buy into the increase fee from their competitor it is like biting off your nose inspite of your face....cancellation of Charters agreement has to cost Comcast. Anyways a bunch of BS

I know a couple of people that work in the local Charter office. I'll go by there Monday and see if I can get a better number to call. Standard CS numbers are usually worthless if one truly wants a complaint to be heard.

I called last night, waited for 25 minutes while listening to elevator music. The guy on the other end could barely speak English. I voiced my concern, and I think he said Charter was negotiating with Comcast. Anyway, I really don't think I accomplished anything. :D

When you talk to them, just tell them to not give you the speech and you know what the deal is. If you ask them to send coorespondance to management to voice your displeasure if TGC is cancelled, they will.

I just moved out of a Charter area, thank God. However, sometimes cable companies do this to rasie rates. If Charter gets a lot of of calls to keep TGC, than they will move it into a package that you will have to buy. If they don't get enough interest, than their just drop it.

 

It is to bad that cable companies had us by the Ba**s, and I had to many service problems with my old Sat to get it again.

Tomorrow I am going to call the corporate offices of Charter and try and contact the CEO, the east division president and anyone else with charter that will not hang up on me. I thought some others might want to do the same. Here is the contact information.

I also called Charter last night to express my displeasure. It sounds like we should be calling Comcast too, as they are screwing with their competition. I'm so sick of cable! Too bad I've got my internet, cable and phone through Charter. Satellite is an option, but there's no way I'm going DSL. I wish FiOS was available in GA. :russian_roulette:

Hey guys, I spoke extensivley this morning with a lady at the corporate office for charter. This was after leaving voice mails with the CEO and COO of charter. She was very nice and spoke clear english. What it boils down to is that Comcast is the one behind it all. They own the golf channel and another network which charter carries and are trying to get more money from charter. The scroll on the screen is place by comcast and charter can't see it so she asked me to get the number for her because it isn't a charter number. She said that they would be carrying the golf channel through the master's weekend so we would be able to get all the behind the scene's info and reports on the golf channel.

I asked her what is the best course of action we can take to express our concern about this and she said she didn't know. She was going to get with her boss and find out if our calling anyone will help. I have her name and number and if I don't here back from her this evening I will pass it on to you all and get anyone willing to call and leave a nice message for her to show that we really care.

The best result I got was calling the main switchboard number and using the search by name feature, I believe it was option 2 and typing in the first 5 letters of the COO's name and it went to his voicemail. I had to speak to an operator and tell her I was calling from independent corporation to speak to the CEO and got his voicemail.

I will let you know what I hear or have a name and phone number for you in a little while.

Well that's reassuring. I'd spaz if I couldn't get every minute details of the Masters.

 

I'd pay extra too if I needed too. I have every single channel Charter offers. I have 7 set top boxes plus 2 Moxi DVRs. I am an Internet user and also use their Local telephone service. I'd cancel everything in a heartbeat if they shut off TGC.
