PXI 6.0

Recommended Posts

Recently changed from 08 AP2's with S300's to the 13' X Forged with Project X 6.0's

I've only had two days out with them but I'm finding them very hard to draw, my natural shape.

I seem to hit a baby fade, straight or a block most shots.

I have seen a slight increase in distance which I account to the 1° stronger lofts, swing speed is 105 with the driver.

I'm not sure if its the less off set, the thicker shaft or the stiffness or just me, any input?

I did hit 710 CB's alongside it with s300 and had no problem drawing them but I have played a few rounds with those.

Thanks,

Dan

6.0's play pretty stiff. I'm thinking of soft-stepping the two sets I have with these shafts for the upcoming season. That would put them about 5.7 on the rifle scale, which is about where the S300 sits. So you're playing with about 1/3 stiffer a flex right now than you had been. The increase in distance is likely the lighter weight (110g) versus S300 which is about 120g if I recall.
The two sets I have mine in are pretty similar to your two sets described ('08 AP2 and Cobra Pro CB.) Can't say I see a lot of difference based on the one degree of loft difference in those sets.

I'd give it some more time. Like Mr D says, you've got the weight difference. I like the PXI like you have, I don't think it plays stiff. Now the non-PXI Project X 6.0 for me has no feel and plays tougher than the 6.0 PXI. I'm even liking softstepping the PXI 6.5 just to get a little more weight and retain the smooth feel.

I hit the s300 and its easy to hit left for me whereas the PXI 6.0 was going to the right before I dialed it in some. I contribute me getting out in front of it with the lighter weight and hitting a push.

Title says PXi, but you refer to PX in the thread. Which ones are you asking about? They are 2 completely different shafts with different profiles. One being really butt stiff, the other being a bit more conventional in profile in relation to other shafts.

I played a round yesterday for the first time in a few days and hit some really good shots. Still felt I had to commit a bit more oomph to get the result I wanted. I'll keep with them for the time being unless someone offers me what Im looking for.

Check your lie angle as well.

They're stock as were my previous AP2's and the CB's I was trying but I'll look into getting them checked.
