I think it is really sad that...(David Duval is not at Masters)

David Duval isn't in this years Master's field, dropped to 359 in world rankings and isnt fully exempt on the tour anymore, and his best finish in a PGA Tour event this year was T36th at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am . DD is one of my favorite golfers and i hope he can get back to playing great golf like he was 7 or 8 years ago. I really want to see him jump back into the top 100 in the world.

I totally agree. It is a shame that he has gone through the tough times that he has. I met DD at Doral in 2001 at the Genuity Championship. I qualified for the event and felt like a fish out of water. I was up in the locker room at doral, which is in the same area where they serve food for the players. So I did not really know anyone...aside from a few local south florida players who were not there at the time. So I had just gotten my breakfast and here comes DD and asks me if it is ok if he sits with me. Are you kidding me???? One of the best players in the world at the time asking me if he can sit with me??? Totally shocking and unexpected. So we had some meaningless banter about several topics, and I finished my meal and was off to the range. Well the story does not stop there. After hitting some shots on the range...who shows up to hit some balls...DD. He then proceeds to chat me up on the range. Just shooting the breeze while hitting some shots. One of the greatest things that I have ever experienced. He is just a normal cool guy and a really good person. He did not have to even look at me, let alone be nice to me and make me feel welcome. Helped make my tour event experience that much more memorable. I was just a little club pro who happened to get lucky enough to monday qualify for a tour event, and I got to hit balls next to one of the purest guys that I have ever seen hit a golf shot. Not to mention a really nice guy.

I wish him nothing but the best in anything that he does.

Thats a really cool story to hear, ialways like DD, because he wasnt the the most popular golfer... It is really a shame to see what has happened to his game, but however after reading a interview, it sounds like his personal life is better than ever. I hope his game comes around and he plays like he did before.

I'd definitely love to see David start playing well again. But that said, unless he's playing like the David of old, he doesn't want anything to do with the course they're playing this week. I've seen more high scores at Augusta this week than I've seen in a long time. It's not for the faint of heart!

I think he would have played well this week if the old masters boys would have invited him. He played really well last year at the US Open (T15) and he has played augusta well in the past. He is very patient as well and this garbage set up is all about patience. It is sad that they don't extend more invitations. Their field is one of the weakest, even Dorals had a better field and I think they should at least 100 players. I think only 20+ missed the cut. These old rich guys need to get over themselves. The tournament is losing its greatness because of these old puds.
