Wilson Staff Duo Spin vs. Maxfli Soft FLI

I will test them, the little I have done is that they are very much the same ball. Need to see if they spin and how they match up.

Any update on how these two balls compare or which is better? I played the Duo Spin today and not a bad ball, I could game it.

[/quote]Very little, sadly. I worked with the maxfli soft fli, u6lc, u4. Maxfli soft was a great feeling ball, wonderful, but no spin. The u6 lc with tri dimple was a great all around ball, a little hard and ok spin but great in the wind. U4, very "spinnie" greens were hard, so it helped. so I played the soft off the tee, u6 off the fairway and the u4 on and around the greens, perfect right Great scramble combo.

If I used the soft fli I would have my irons bent the 2 deg. weak not 2+ like I have now. Would hit it high to stop the ball, and chip with 64 deg. lob. but the U6 is a great all around ball. But I love to zip a ball back with short irons and wedges.

Just a note, the wilson spin and the soft fli go high and long, at least 1/2 club, and it rolls out. If you are not use to a tour ball either of these are wonderful. I have a driver speed around 95. Hope this helps, most should try these balls. The Maxfli soft fli for 12.50 a doz is a steal. The u3 is the best overall ball, not real spinnie but enough to live with for 15 bucks.

I bought some Softfli's just see how they play. If I don't like them I'll give to my kids. I didn't like the 2014 U/6X they were a club short and actually felt mushy. That's funny because the Duo Spin did not. I will try the Softfli this weekend if the rain stops here and I wish I could find my old ball the U/4X. The search is on for a new ball!

I agree the U/4 has too much spin, but I might have to learn to deal with it for now. I bought 2 boxes of them when I got the Softflis.

I am high ball hitter so I get spin with most balls(most shots back up a few feet). I would however rate the Duo Spin about a 4. I played the Softfli yesterday and it is a great all around ball. I got good spin with it and the green were hard and fast. I might have found a new ball in the Softfli.

I started the season with the Softfli and have stayed with it so far for about 10 rounds. The distance and feel are addictive and approach shots have some rollout but I have become used to it. It is not my old U/3 around the green, but I found it better than the Supersoft. I do have to give the Gamer Soft another try this year but I am finding it hard to be at Dicks and not grab 2 more dozen Softfl's for $25. What I find interesting is that the U/3 which was about 65 compression and the 35 compression Softfli are both noticeably longer for my swing (90mph driver) which confirms that it is a lot more than compression that effects distance.

I have played 3 rounds with the Softfli and I like it more each time. I am going to pick up 2 dozen more on my lunch today.

My last round with the Softli was yesterday and greens were hard and fast. I could get the Softfli to stop on occasion, but the Duo Spin would not stop at all! I don't know if I lost any distance with the Softfli (107mph Driver), but it sure feels good coming off the club face of all clubs. I am afraid to try any other low compression balls as they tend to balloon on me especially the Duo, but I do want to try the Aeroburner Pro & soft before choosing my replacement for the U/4X.
