Nike Buy of Titleist (WHAT THE?)

Noone has mentioned vokeys really. Yes the ball market is dominated by Titleist, but is the wedge market not also. If Nike bought them they would have hands down the 2 best products in 2 categories. Also, wouldent this be almost identical to the adidas tm business plan? Its not that hard to fathom nike doing something like this. It would be good profits for both companies, but for us people using equipment.

I apologize to all whom may have been offended in my banter filled post, I know none of you are children, who am I to say "you kids"? I was merely exercising my constitutional forum right that states this is "A non-biased forum for golf enthusiasts to be able to come online and discuss an array of issues with confidence and without fear of reprisal." Now my information was non-biased, actually came from a corporate exec., and was expressed with confidence oozing from every word when, for effect, I used mildly demeaning words to captivate the attention of my beloved audience, without fear of being called a meany or a bully or having someone threatening my life for useful information. I apologize for "overlooking" the rules Sac, thanks for all your help in leading me to them... they are nice rules.

 

As for the Cobra thing, I agree with the pushing the products but that's like Microsoft telling people to use Vista instead of XP, either way they are still getting paid. Cobra and Titleist are made by the same company, so he can hit his Cobras and you can play your Titleists and you can take all of his money that Cobra is paying him which in turn is mainly funded by the Titleist name. I see it as a win-win.

 

Spare us the sarcasm. Just be respectful with your posts, that's all we ask. We're not your "beloved" audience, nor does anyone really care for the attitude.

Riddle me this Scratchman (Hypothetical situation for SEC purposes), if Company A was going to unload Company B to purchase Company C, the correct stock to buy would be ......

 

Company A, because the selloff of "B" and new acquisition of "C" would make "A's" stock higher.

Company B, because the stocks are low and the possible buyout of stock would be substantially higher.

Company C, because the stocks are fair, but the acquistion from "A" would make them climb rapidy.

 

All of that without coffee-head hurts-need some, back in a minute.

Well for SEC purposes I deleted a few of my former posts... but as to the answer of you question I still have to acquire more info. It completely depends on the profitability of Company B and Company C... meaning are they receiving more for Company B than it's worth, or is Company C more profitable which in turn will add to total value of Company A. It just depends on the direction in which Company A wants to take the company and where they see themselves down the road. At first the books may take a hit because of the large outflow of cash for acquisition. Company C isn't publicly traded so there's not a lot of information about their books and so you can't jump in and buy to make money on a buyout... so the next question would be to ask who wants to buy Company B? That I do not know. All I know is Company A should be a good buy. That's a lot of beating around the bush... sorry to those who are lost

Maybe Nike are or are not buying Titleist, But let's just keep to the topic here and lets all stop lashing out back and forth here at each other.

Nike may well buy Titleist and if they do, well Foss69 may well have got us here the hottest new's for 2007. There are so many rumour's in the golf industry and some may just shock us and sometimes we don't care. One thing here I can see and that is they are two great companies and if they do join, Man that will be one hell of a Army.

Please guy's keep this to a post of interest not a post of knock's back and forth.
