Tournament Results and Discussion Thread

Hey fellas. Did a quick search to see if there were any threads on here for consolidated tournament results. I didn't see one, but knowing there are guys on WRX that play tournaments frequently I thought it would be a good idea to have a thread dedicated to posting your results and discussing your rounds. I'd like to limit it to just individual tournaments, but any style of tournament would be fine. Can be anything from your local match play tournament to club championships or state/national events.

I'm currently gearing up for my first big tournament of the season, which is this weekend. It's one of the region's bigger tournaments and I had a good showing there last year, although I didn't finish as strongly as I had hoped. Shot a 4-under 68 on the first day to be one shot off the lead, but followed it up with a 3-over 75 on the second day for a 143 (-1) total, good enough for 4th place. My goal for the tournament was even par or better, so I did accomplish that but was still a bit disappointed in the second day score.

This year I feel good going in despite not getting to play as much this season (just had a baby last month). My goal for the tournament is 140 or below. Practice round Friday afternoon so that should be a good indicator of how the weekend may go. I will keep you guys posted.

Please feel free to share your experiences from any tournaments earlier in the season, and hopefully we can keep this thread going through the fall for everyone to discuss how their competitive season is going.

Practice round went pretty well. Ended up with a 70 (-2). Had 4 birdies and 2 bogeys, both of which were 3 putts. The greens were a little slow and I struggled to get the speed dialed in. Ball striking was good but didn't make any putts outside of 5 or 6 feet...Tee off at 2:00 today, and will take that same round, though I'd like to eliminate those 3 putts.

Day 1, 75 (+3) which puts me T16... Struggled with pretty much every aspect of my game. Couple penalty strokes off the tee, inconsistent speed on the greens, average to poor wedge shots. Basically just grinded all day long to finish with that round.

All the scores were a little higher than I expected aside from one guy who was on fire and shot a 63. Next closest is one 68 and a couple 69's, so everyone is pretty much playing for second today. Hoping to put up a good round today and climb into the Top 10.
