Any Apps That Do Local Leaderboards For Free?

Hey All,

I've noticed more and more golf apps have a really cool feature - the live leaderboard, where you can keep track of how you are doing compared to everyone else in your outing in real time. Only problem is that every one I've come across is a pay-to-play feature. An upgrade from the basic app.

I get why apps are doing this, but it really defeats their purpose of gaining mass adoption.

Are you aware of any golf scoring apps that do that live leaderboard feature as part of the free feature sets? I'm going on a 20 man golf outing next month and would love to get this integrated into the fun.

Golf gamebook?

Thanks for the suggestion. I checked out the user reviews and the app sounds really half-baked. The only way to edit groups for the various events that would comprise a golf trip is from a laptop. Anything else out there a little more fully formed?

I wouldn't call gamebook halfbaked at all, it is at least extensively used here in Sweden, as well as in Norway & Finland, reasonably "app-savvy" countries . When I've previously looked at similar apps they have fallen very very short of gamebook from an UI perspective.
Setting up groups per "tournament" (i.e. day on the trip) is doable from your phone/tablet. Summarizing the total points per person during the week might be a different story if you change game formats & team compositions per day, but that you can sort out with pen & paper, excel or whatnot - the per-day results are likely what you'll want to have "live" in any case.
