Thinking of trading my R7 425 TP tour issued driver

Need opinions

I was put on a LM and it revealed that my club had to much loft. It is a 10.5 and I like the head but I don't like the shaft (HTD cb65). Does anyone have an opinion on trading my R7 for a 905R? Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated

905R is an excellent club. I sent mine packing once I got my hands on a Bridgestone J33R 460. Workable with beautiful looks and sound. Definitely give it a try and go for the VS Proto shaft over the NV.

I agree, however I was hitting the 905r in an 8.5* with the speeder shaft. Ball flight was a little low but not bad. However I am a TM fan and have switched to a tour issued tp 425 with 10.5* with a Diamana White Board 73 tipped 3/4". Ball flight is awesome and is longer than my 905r. I would recommend looking at other shaft options for your 425. I don't think there is a better driver out there. Just my opinion, take it or leave it. Just another option for you to look at, because the HTD is a higher launching, higher spinning shaft.

Maybe a lower loft in the same driver with a high kick shaft. This is the best driver I have tried up to date and can't see me changing anytime soon.

Both heads are good. However, finding the right launch angle is just as much about the shaft as it is the loft. Get on a launch monitor with both heads and multiple shafts, find the right combo and take the guesswork out of it.

That's my $0.02 anyways!

I got on a LM yesterday for the first time and my swing speed avg was 109 and the launch was avg 13.8. The only glaring problem was the backspin of 3800 +. What other shaft options are there for lower backspin?

Tons of options out there depending on the money you want to spend but the Diamana Whiteboard 83, UST V2 75, Speeder 757 and Grafalloy Blue or Prolaunch Red immediately come to mind. Whatever you choose, I would look for a mid-high kickpoint shaft to help bring both the launch and spin rates down.
