New R7 425

Does anyone have any pictures or infomation about what the new R7 425 is going look like. I have been told that the new R7 will be longer from heal to toe and shorter from front to back, compared to TM's previous driver's. I want to either get the Titleist 905T or wait and get the R7 425. My problem now is that i can't get a consistent tajectory because of my playing schedule. When i play alot i hit the ball high, and low otherwise. I need to get a club that has a controllable tajectory, how is the 905T.

Have not heard those characteristics of the r7...what I have heard is that it'll be a TP model only, the 460cc r7 will be a regular model. There is supposed to be a new titleist 460cc driver next year which I'm sure will get much more use and press than this year's crop of 905 (which were mostly duds if you ask me). What dont' you like about the 580xd listed in your sig? Have you thought about switching shafts at all?

The 425 r7 will be available in both a regular and a tp model for sure. And the 460 may even be available in a tp but nothing in stone as for that one. This is from talking to my rep in the area here.

I have put a dent in the face of my R580XD, right above the score lines. I am about to sent it back to Taylor Made. I still hit my 983K the longest and most accurate. But i want something more forgiving, that is why i was considering the 905T. And yes i have been thinking of reshafting the TM with a V2. I think the blue is a little harsh when i'm not swinging pure. I just wish that taylor made would come out with a more traditional looking head, by that i mean longer from heal to toe and not so large from front to back.

I just do not get the negative feedback of the 905 drivers. Of all the drivers out the 905S and 905T consistently gave me the best numbers. I went with the T because I prefer shallow face drivers.

The T is much lower spinning than the K so maybe some people don't have the swing speed to hit it.

Only the TP will be 425. The other will be a 460 with only two weights. The TP will have a special yellow and black TP graphics Fujikura shaft that will have the Rombax technology.

There isn't anything wrong with the Titleist 905 - I have an S and T with 9.5 degree lofts and both are eminently more playable than the 983 before or IMO the TM R7.

The 905 has a better feel of the face than the TM R7 - which I think is an overrated club in many respects. The T is just plain easy to hit, with lots of carry - you just have to pick a suitable shaft for your game. The S is a nap for using in windy conditions and again I feel I just can't do much wrong with the deep face - a very straight club.

I don't think I'll even bother with a 460 model (905R I believe is going to be the number) as these maximum size heads just don't appeal - but then again what's an extra 60cc when you're already packing 400c with the current S and T model.

To summarise, against a TM R7 old or new version I would opt for the Titleist. Anyway is it not just Taylor Made's way of keeping the market ticking over (as they are prone to do with their interminable new model launches), and I would be miffed indeed if Titleist ever embarked on this new stuff every five minutes routine.
