Playing 35" Ping Karsten 2i...extend or get another putter?

I've been playing with the same Ping Karsten 2i putter for about 20 years. I got it new from the pro shop of the course I worked at while in high school. I've always liked it. I still remember when I bought it...it was LOT of money to spend at the time. I basically got my paycheck and turned around and handed it back to them, lol.

 

Once I passed about 15 years with this putter though...I started periodically thinking about either extending it or getting a second/longer putter. I'm hesitant to extend this one, as I'm not sure if I'll be happy with it like that long-term.

 

A buddy lent me his second putter this morning...an Odyssey White Hot Mid. I'm 6'3" or so (6'4" or so with shoes). I've never liked bending way over with a standard length putter. Testing out this club...I find that I can properly align a putt without stooping over like I do with my club. This is probably a belly butter for someone that isn't big goober tall, but for me...I can just operate it like I do my regular putter (same basic grip and swing...just no stooping way over).

 

The Odyssey has a "Super Stroke" grip. Much nicer than the one on my Ping. Whichever way I go...I think I might like going with that grip. Any thoughts from people that have found themselves in this position? Thank you.

Another question...is it possible to remove the original shaft without damaging it and reuse it at a later date, if necessary?

 

Edit: Disregard. I tried the Odyssey and my Ping out on the course tonight. The balance of my Ping is MUCH better. I may see if I can find an identical Ping and get an extension on that.
