Ok, as some of you know I was, at one time, a pretty "harsh" critic of the S&T and P&B based upon the FIRST article in GD.........with that being said, in response to about a zillion emails, and in the spirit of fairness (which I believe in VERY strongly) I'd like to leave a quick post........

 

First, one of my best students is in Oregon for a private pro-am hosted by a PGA Tour player.........Plummer put on a clinic........my student stated that he hits it great and is a very nice and unassuming person........modest and passionate about the golf swing........EXACTLY the type of person I'm partial to and LUV to "visit" with about the golf swing..........

 

Second, after quite a bit more "due diligence" regarding S&T I've come to realize that it's pretty similar to what I believe and teach every single day.......P&B/O'Grady's conclusion about the most effective/simplest golf swing isn't all that much different from what I've concluded.......basically eliminate as much lateral motion in the golf swing as possible and COMPRESS the golf ball to YOUR maximum, at least with everything but the driver...........at least that's my conclusion after a LOT more "research"........I still believe/know there is a way to accomplish the same things with fewer moving parts and that is more fundamentally sound........however, that debate is for another day and another venue.......but I do feel the obligation to be fair to P&B as that IS the "right" thing to do.........more power to em'................:tongue:

SliceFixer. I really appreciate your last post and it makes me want to learn more about S & T. I think that right now the majority of us don't know enough about it to make a determination. Thanks for doing the research and letting us know it may be worth taking a good look at!

Just gotta' be fair to P&B.......hope they'd do the same for me.......and, take it from me, you can NEVER do enough research about the golf swing (exactly how I've learned whatever I know about the swing)........it's "neverending"........and S&T has merit.......a bunch of swing methods have merit........ya' just gotta' find the right one for YOU and stick with it.......

Andy Plummer seems like an enthusiastic person. Not many instructors (especially those teaching tour players) take the time to post replies to videos on YouTube. I've contacted instructors on this board previously and never received a response, so it's refreshing to have instructors who are passionate about helping others and not just interested in boosting their own egos.

The problem with S&T isn't the two instructors. It's the bogus pics and editing by GD. Go look at real swings from PGA events by their students. Their swings are very orthodox.

The pics aren't bogus, thats how they actually take practice swings to try and "feel" like they are leaning left, however the actual golf swings are different because they are swinging with this feel...and it was edited poorly
