KBS Tour V 120g versus KBS Tour 125g direct comparison

Hi,

I have tried the search function, without success.

Currently play KBS Tour V x flex (120g) soft stepped once. These feel fine but I fancied a change and wanted something a little heavier to see if it helped with tempo. I’m about to build a set of irons with KBS Tour S+ (125g), straight in. Same heads (Bridgestone j15cb). I picked up the shafts brand new for crazy money so it’s a very cheap experiment.

I have a feeling they will play similar, with maybe a slightly higher ball flight, but anyone have any direct comparisons?

KBS Tour V stays stiffer longer down the shaft relative to the step pattern. That’s how Kim was able to make Tour V’s lighter but yet play “stiffer” at a lighter weight.

 

So what most people say is Tour V feels stiffer compared to Tour. Tour feels a little softer comparing the two. But everyone feels something different.
