My wierd swing hopefully slighlty improved

Has there been any improvement & whats next best step

I have tried to work on my posture recently. Think it has changed my swing a bit. Here are the results:

So I was thinking it was improving a little.

Planned Future Work
Wanted to work on pinching the elbows a little closer at setup and continuing this through the swing (stop flying left elbow)

Also wanting to try to keep hands as far away from the shoulders as possible at top. Looks to me like the left arm wraps around the chest rather than given width. Also trying to steepen plane on backswing by hinging wrist not rolling.

Think the things I planned are all linked to flat backswing.

What do you guys think now?? And do you agree with my attempted plan for winter month.

Any help is gratefully reeived. Have seen a noticable improvement in striking with the swing less in to out leading to straighter divots and shots. Shot shape is generally straight now which is nice!

Your posture looks fine...heres a simple way that I check posture. At addres take the bottom hand off the club and let it hang to you knee cap. If your hand drops to the top of your knee cap your posture is probably pretty good. If I were you I would try to work on making your right hand stronger while gripping the club more in the finger tips. MOST IMPORTANTLY WORK ON TEMPO! You really jerk the club away and your entire swing seems out of control. Slow down and improve contact.

Looks to me like you have 2 major faults.

 

1) No Weight Shift

2) Not Clearing hips

 

There are minor faults as well.. But if you focus on the major ones I think you will see a big improvement.

 

By the way.. I did an anlysis using swingacademy .. to view it just click one of your links above.. The analysis appears on the top-right ... pretty cool.

Thanks chip shot (presuming you are rick!) for analysis on swing analysis. Great system for giving feedback and i love what you have said.

 

With regards to weight shift do i still reverse pivot or just not transfer at all?? Thinking to encourage me to get weight onto right foot in back swing to move a little there at start of swing by angling spine a little away from the target (more so with long clubs). Going to work on drill of swinging back onto just right foot then swing through to just left foot taking other foot off ground. Any other drills you can advise encourage shift?

 

Also know need to turn hips not slide them but have trouble sending that message down from my brain to hips!!

Take a look at Steve Elkington's weight shift in slo-mo.. then yours.

 

You should see what I mean.

 

I am no pro.. and I have plenty of problems with my own swing.. So take my advice with that in mind.
