What are your swing thoughts during or just before the swing?

Swing thoughts are for diving range and lessons, IMO it has no place in your head while playing.
If you have swing thoughts while you're playing, either you have doubt of your swing mechanics or you're not able to focus on the target.
When I'm playing decent, I have no swing thoughts, just focusing on target, and think of getting the ball to that target.
Getting the ball to the target area is the name of the game.

Full Shots - Unless I've done (or have been doing) something particularly wrong on the last shot or 2 (in which case I'll just make a mental note of that before I pull it back) my pre-swing thoughts on ALL full shots is "Swing plane". Everything else falls into place.

"Touch" shots - I've already set up correctly so all that's on my mind is "50%, 3/4 swing, etc."

Putts - Again I've set up and picked my spot so my thoughts are - Distance (Hit it 15 feet (or whatever)). Soft hands. Through to the target.

I wish more people would acquire this type of philosophy after their swing

My swing thoughts during or just before are always visual...all the prep work is done before this point and I'm just enjoying my ringside ticket to the toughest two seconds in sports.

There IS a huge difference between "blank" and "focused on target".
If you don't even know the difference, don't bother to try to have a swing thought, it'll just confuse the heck out of you.

Most of my swing thoughts are not words, but feelings and visual images associated with previous "good swings"

On the first tee, with no warm up for the day a nice tempo is my main concern, and I do actually think of the words:
"one one thousand [backswing], two one[impact] thousand [followthrough]"

The rest of the time I have in my mind:
- "visualizing" the feel of the shot as I make it.
- the feeling of clearing the hips and allowing the lower body to fire the upper body/hands to ball
- visualizing the actual ball flight immediately after impact
- hit "that" dimple [choose your own dimple]
- feeling of standing up through the shot (I have a tendency to "bear down" and sling my hands directly into the dirt 3 inches behind the ball)
- the feeling of the upper right arm staying connected to the ribcage backswing to impact
- feeling of an extended flat wrist long through impact
- feeling of hitting a cut (on days when I'm hook/drawing it too much)
- the feeling of staying on the same plane backswing through impact

Reality BITES for the most part But I go find my ball and deal with it.

My best swing thoughts and resulting swings are along the lines of "I'm going to pick up *5* skins right here!". ...maybe it's the visualization of the awsome shot to follow. I do much better in those situations and match play and not so well at medal.

This game is played beyond the end of the club and the ball. When you can dream shots and believe, you'll be a winner."

I just look at my target,picture my shot shape and just mentally think, "Hit the damm ball". Most of the time it works.
