A comprehensive program

I'm considering setting up a thorough practice scheme that I would adher to until the season begins in April. I can set aside five days a week, approximately two hours for each session. I want to include as many aspects of the game as possible (but putting just isn't practical when the green are closed) and I want to be able to measure how I'm doing.

Hence, I need some ideas and suggestions. If one session is focused on technique, how can I measure my development? Can I incorporate drills that will enhance concentration? If so, can that be measured? What about feel? One idea I have is to hit nine balls to an umbrella at different distances from 50 to 100 yrds with three different clubs using three balls for each club.

But I really need some more ideas and suggestions, so if you have something, let me have it! :russian_roulette:

Tell us a little about yourself. What is your handicap and your strengths and weaknesses?

Guess that is just fair, but my request was based on the assumption that it would benefit the whole golfing community. Most of us tend to spank orbs into oblivion on the range, and I was thinking that there must be a better way.

First, I began playing when I was nine, and quit the game at nineteen (university, career and whatnot) took it up again at 43 and I'm now 50. Whan I began again I only had acces to the only swing I've ever known, but my body was in an entirely diferent galaxy. Hence, scoring was of the charts; par-bogey-eleven-par-nine (you get the picture) I've worked hard to firming up my swing and to get a tempo that is more in tune with my age and physique. I am now down to a 7 hcp, meaning that I tend to score in the low 80s with an occasional 75 or 76. Hit between ten and eleven greens, have a creative (maybe overly so) short game and use the putter 31 or 32 times a round. Tend to mess up with one or two doubles, usually the result of some penalties (stroke and distance), decen in the sand, but the ball ends up two or three feet away from a decent opportunity to make a sandy (about 30% conversion rate). Oh, I also make a birdie or two. It used to be because I can reach som par 5 in two, but these days I play more conservatively. I'll only go for the green in two if I have a tail wind. I've come to the stage in life where I've decided its time to indulge myself (my family was the prior priority) and for me that is golf, golf and more golf. Being an ambitious bastxxx I want to see if I canät get around courses in one or two over par, and maybe one or two under when there is no wind and a hot babe in the group.

One of the drills I've envisioned is taking nine balls (three #1, #2 and #3) set up an umbrella at 25, 40, 60 and 75 yrds and hit three balls with three different clubs. (25 yrds = LW SW & GW) and then measure how far they are from the umbrella. This ought to enhance feel for different clubs, as well as learning how to hit those clubs exactly that distance. I also have one idea about balance, standing on one leg and hitting a draw, a fade and a straight. That sort of thing. Nut I want more, much much more!

I like to go out to the chipping/pitching area at my course (which is always empty, while you almost have to fight for a spot at the range) and chip to a 3 foot circle. If I miss the circle I walk up and get the ball and try again. I keep going to I get all the balls in the circle.
