Bowflex Golf Workout

just the working out is good, not as good as actually doing some compound lifts, as youre not using those "stabilizers" you use in a golf swing, but its always good to strengthen the muscles used in your golf swing so emphasize Legs and back, tri's are also good but basically anything is going to help as excercise on a bowflex, not really going to hurt you unless you hurt yourself

I am not familiar with the bowflex... but is there any way you could simulate high to low or low to high woodchoppers? That would be a good workout for your core and would simulate some abdominal movement in your swing.

 

I would think that any basic core workout would help your game. In all honesty, any workout helps you gain better muscle control which in turn will help you control your swing more. However, make sure that you have a good post-workout stretching routine so that you do not lose any flexibility. Losing flexibility can mess with your swing.

I'm a huge fan of the bowflex. I recently started playing golf again after two shoulder surgeries, I'm now really into making sure my shoulders are strong and I've noticed huge gains in keeping the ball straight. Here's the four exercises I would do on the bowflex.

 

Internal Rotation

External Rotation

Reverse Fly

Shoulder Press

 

They are all in the manual you can download from bowflex.com

bodybugg is right, the bowflex isn't very good, but for people who have already dropped at least a years membership to a stellar gym on it, you work with what youve got. But he is right due to the fact that no where in life will you be working one muscle without stabilizing any others like free weights do

Do not be so lame, who do think suppliies your gym with all the equipment? Bowflex! These are just a few that BowFlex deals with. A 15 minute warm-up on the BowFlex and I will be loose and ready to play my best. There are unlimited exercises one may perform using a BowFlex! Plus your not going to have to wait for a machine to open up! BowFlex keeps me hitting long and strong. I'll take a BowFlex and a couple of dumbells anyday. With a basic BowFlex try these simple exercises for a solid core; Use the low pulley cable to do hip extensions, dead lifts and squats. Work your shoulders with seated shoulder presses, lateral raises and shrugs. Abdominal exercises include the seated crunch and trunk rotation. Keep it simple and stay in form. Then when your buddy asks you i you changed driver or gol balls you will know!

Gadster, you sir seem angry. 
Having a membership doesn't make you stronger.

Working out makes you stronger.

If you go from nothing to doing...

   Situps

   Pushups

   Squats

 

or just did 

   Kettlebell Turkish Get ups


Anything done regularly is better than what most folks are doing.

 

And do you or have you owned a Bowflex?

If not, what is your not so humble opinion based on.
