Screen Repair

Hello, I have a Foresight Sim-in-a-Box simulator that is 8'x 13' and was wondering what people have done with repairing/reinforcing the screen in the impact locations.  My impact location is about 2' high by 4' wide - that is about all I can really hit left to right, but even if I could use the full width, there would be only 15-20% of the height being used.

 

I was thinking about maybe dropping a screen flap that would just sit over the impact area (8' high by 6-8' wide) to reinforce that impact location.  I was hoping others have dealt with this.  

 

I do not want to wait until real damage is happening

Par2Pro sells strips of their unfinished screen material that are pretty inexpensive. You could look into hanging one or two of those over the primary impact areas for practice sessions, then removing them for dedicated sim play if they bother you or negatively affect the image.

 

A few people on GSF forums also use white photo backdrop cloth from Amazon to hang in front of the screen. $20-30 USD, good image and lasts very well.

i use a white photo backdrop from amazon made of polyester. has been keeping my impact screen in great shape. 10x10 is about $30. lasts a long time but i have replaced it once already. i have a sim league in winter with friends and eventually someone puts a hole in. 

 

the cover also improves the image quality a lot.
