Tampa Golf Trip

Hi all,

 

We are looking at going to Tampa for a getaway (likely 4 days) of golf and to watch some hockey in March. 10 of us going and would love some suggestions are where to stay and play. If possible, on a course and a larger condo for all of us ideally. Unsure if any options like that exist but would love any feedback or comments. Also if it is within an hour or two of Tampa that is fine with us.

Lake Jovita Resort is nice. It has two courses and 3 bedroom villas on site.

 

You said you are okay travelling two hours from Tampa so that would put Orlando in your range.  You can rent really nice large homes that can hold ten people at either Reunion or at Championsgate. Reunion has three courses on site. Championsgate has one on site and two other next door at the Omni Resort. At Championsgate most of the large houses have pools and you also get access to the Oasis club house that has a large pool a bar and other ameneties

We just did a trip to Innisbrook and it was great.  We stayed onsite, 2 guys per room (2 queen beds).  $1,350 included three nights lodging, 6 rounds of golf (2 rounds on copperhead), and breakfast and lunch every day.  It was a great deal.  Copperhead was awesome.  The Island course was in really good shape, not my favorite layout though.  South course was in good shape with the overseed.  The north course was basically a goat ranch, but at least had good greens, no overseed.

 

I'd highly recommend going during the winter when the overseed is lush.
