Ram Wizard fitting stick

Has anyone had any experience with this vintage fitting device? Or any information?

Wow!  I haven't seen one of those since the 80's.  Back before fitting was done dynamically, the next best thing were systems like Ping which fit you into the correct color code based on their static specs of wrist to the floor.... I think it was fingertip to the floor back then.

 

So other manufacturers were trying to play catch up to get a piece of that market.  This would have been a club that you would have the player take their address position and then depending how the club soled, it would point to the proper color code on the face... upright or flat.  This would have been to fit their game improvement club at the time... I think it was the FX or FX Laser..... something like that.  I could be wrong. The head shape kinda reminds me of the Accubar but I think that club was gone by then.  It wasn't used to fit the Tour Grind model.

@Bigarch thanks for the info....I guess I've probably been using it, rather misusing it, when I've reshafted clubs for a few family members. Basically, because the shaft itself is adjustable, it gave me the shaft length for a 5 iron at address, so I based the reshaft or build off that. I built an iron set for one of my Sisters (she had a bunch of mismatched clubs) using a Ping Eye 2 clone. Kinda irritated her husband a wee bit (playing a s2h2 set)...seems her game improved a bit & she actually scored better on a few holes 😂

It does look liike the Accubar, doesn't it....I hadn't seen that.
