Wilson Sam Snead Greenbrier Putter

I found this Wilson Sam Snead Greenbrier putter at a local antique store and just had to buy it. I haven’t been able to find any information on the Greenbrier reg 1003 putter anywhere. Can anyone help me identify the time period and give a little information? It seems unusual and I’ve never seen one with “Putter” stamped in the bottom. The shaft is about 34 inches and I can’t tell if it’s wood or fiberglass.

it is pyratone, not wood and is a Ladies model, can tell by the L, very early from the 30's

That’s awesome. It’s in great shape to be that old. Were lady’s clubs uncommon for this era? I’m still going to try putting with it even though it is a lady’s club.

back then not much difference, I play hickory and have 2 L clubs and they play the same, weight maybe a little lower but on a putter should not be a big deal

Correct on the Pyratone shafts.  But Snead’s first Wilson irons came out in 1937.  So this putter is most likely ‘37-‘38.
