Noob Here

Hey everyone - new guy here! I've watched from the outside for several years via link redirects to the site, but never actually joined until today (thanks, driver testing opportunity!) I decided in January that this year is the year I get serious about my game and am on the path to break 85 by season's end. I'm looking forward to learning to suck a lot less, sharing my progress along the way, and offering a healthy dose of sarcasm whenever possible. And, oh yeah - Go Hawks!

Best advice to break 85 is put down the driver and focus on 75 yards and in. That’s where 90% of your strokes will be lost.

^^^ Sage advice. That and putting. If you can eliminate 3 putts, your score will drop drastically

Recently I have been spending most of my practice time on short game (chips and pitching) and after about a month I'm seeing results.  It appears to have had an affect on my mid irons too.

I feel like initially one has to get it to the hole first..... If you suck with the driver, it's going to hurt your game; so get good with it and then yeah.... put it down.

I find that when I work on my full swing shots at the range, I pull the driver out and hit three. The trouble with the driver is it can tire you out and then your practice session is largely shot....
