New to SF .. looking for partners to hit the course with!

Hey, not sure if this board is active but I'm new to wrx and SF this summer! Looking to get on course with some playing partners and to explore the Bay Area! Currently in Chicago and deciding between moving here or staying there. Chicago golf is awesome (but we only get it for half of the year!)

If you have a San Francisco address definitely buy a resident card, which is needed to receive a discounted greens fee rate at Harding Park GC, Fleming, Lincoln Park, Golden Gate Park, and Sharps Park courses. These are the SF  resident card courses, although technically Sharps is in Pacifica.

Outside of SF, within an hours drive,  there dozen (s) of open to the public courses worth playing. For reasonably priced good public access golf the SF Bay Area is great.

Thank you Louis! I got out to Harding Park last Monday and it was incredible! Not sure if we were just lucky because we had 0 wait that evening (started at 4pm). I've heard some horror stories about weekend golf taking 5+ hours around the city. Is that really the case? Or is that just for Presidio? 

 

Also, any advice for practicing around the city? Looking for grass teas & a tracer/tracking system if the range has one would be great. Heard Stanford has an awesome range but that's pretty far out.

As far as I know Stanford University driving range (for anyone but the school's team members) has synthetic mats.  Near San Francisco my favorite ranges are San Bruno Golf Center  (San Bruno) or  Cypress Driving Range (Colma). For putting and chipping/pitching  Harding's short game practice area is my favorite.

I only play first out in the morning so I would not know about pace of play later in the day.
