Should Utility Iron Clubhead Specs match Regular Irons?

I'm curious to see if others have their utility irons match the specs of their regular irons. For example, I just got fitted into irons that are 3* up and shafts 0.5 in longer. Would it make sense for me to do the same to a utility iron? I'm sure the obvious answer is for me to get fitted for it, but I haven't found any local shops that do driving iron fittings, and they usually have a very limited selection of models to test.

Side note: anyone know if Titleist does fittings for their utility irons?

I’m not the right person to answer your first question.

However, yes at titleist fitting events you can get fitted for their utility irons. Just select “hybrids/woods” when booking your fitting and when you get there request to just get fitted for a utility.

probably better people here to answer this but: fittings as far as lie angles should be relative to the length of the shaft. if you are 3 up and 1/2 inch long on a 6 iron (so 64.5/ 38" for reference) then your 3 utility iron has a stock 60.5 and 39" shaft that would be 63.5/ 39.5 right? But at what point do you feel comfortable length wise and how does it perform? Also you are possibly adding in the variable of a different shaft as well. I went hzrdus black 100g in both my utilities and Iim pretty happy with how they match up with my 6 28* iron with kbs 130. 6 iron is about 195, 5u at 25* goes 212 stock. Choking down on the utility a bit i can get 200-205 pretty easily. I know its all about ball speed these days (Fletch voice) but the carry numbers, spin and height all check out for me.

Yeah I see what you're saying in respect to the shaft lengths and such. Every 2 or 3 utility iron I've ever tried have been standard length and lie and have all felt relatively comfortable to me, but I guess also because I've never really had the option to try out different configurations. I'm particularly interested in getting the T200 utility and have only tried their stock hzrdus black 90g which was decent, but I generally do play heavier shafts in all my clubs so I'd be curious to see how those feel in a fitting.

I'm 3 up in my irons, and I've bent my utility irons 3 degrees up I feel like it's a must. With that being said it's pretty hard to find the right specs. Srixon is the only brand of Utility iron that Roger Dunn was actually willing to bend for me, for Titleist T200 utilities they said that it would probably break if they tried to bend it 3 degrees and I'd need to order it like that straight from Titleist.

That's actually what I'm worried about haha. Not necessarily bending the head itself but if I were to ever mishit it and breaking it. Planning to go to a Team Titleist fitting soon and see what they recommend.
