I got fit the other day at Club Champion. They fit me into a Mezz Max 37"-37.5" and 69-70 lie. I've found some 36" options that are 69 or 70 lie with the Press II 1.5 grip that I liked. I've seen differing opinions about extending LAB putters. I figured this would be the place that would definitively know the answers. The experience in club building in this forum is top notch, from what I've seen. I definitely trust the answers I get here. So if I got 36" and had my pro shop put an inch extension in it, would it screw up the whole lie angle balance that makes a LAB a LAB? The shaft is the standard graphite Accra. Thank you!

No, it won’t affect the lie angle balance.

There are many thoughts on LAB, including this one here:
 https://ralphmaltby.com/questions/question/evolution-of-putter-designs-and-zero-torque/
Basically, this guy theorizes that the "hand press" grip or whatever it's called ruins the lie-angle-balance by making the golfer handle the club *on the axis of the handle/grip* and not on the axis of the *shaft*. According to this random internet stranger, it makes it the equivalent of a center-shafted putter. I'm no engineer so I couldn't tell you if it's true.

There is an existing thread that would be a better place for this point.  Here:

He sounds like an Axis salesman. (I tried Axis. Didn't like it at all)

Just realize that that putter was likely built to a proper SW at that length, so when you extend it an inch+, you're going to get a much heavier feeling club overall, all else equal.

Personally, I would just buy it and send it back to LAB and have it done proper.
