Steve Williams interview

Great read about Steve Williams. Apparently it's an introduction to "E:60" on Tuesday, April 15 on ESPN. (I guess i won't be able to catch it here in europe ...)

They did a TV piece on him, but the article is nicely written and quite amusing.

The best interview I saw of Steve Williams was last year while I was in New Zealand. It was a local kiwi reporter who obviously knew him pretty well. Compared to how he normally is, Steve was incredibly relaxed and candid and appeared to be chatting with a good mate who just happened to work in television. After watching, I'm not surprised at all to read about his charitable acts. He seems like a top bloke.

I read it yesterday and thought it was an interesting article. I've always kind of liked him and thought the article shed some light on his personality. I think he does exactly what his boss wants him to do (i.e the long lasting relationship). There have been comments about his need for the spotlight and I don't think that is case at all. He feels 100% part of team Tiger and I don't think I disagree with him.

Maybe some of you already knew the Valvoline connection, but it makes sense to me now (didn't before).

Thats what got Fluff and Butch fired Tiger does not share the spotlight well.

IMO, I think Fluff and Butch tried to talk to much "shop" to get in the spotlight and I think thats what Tiger didn't care for. I really don't think Tiger cares if people in his camp get attention, just if they use their knowledge/relationship with him to do it (i.e not part of the team anymore).
