Should the tee break after a drive?

sometimes tees break, sometimes they dont...it has nothing to do with a good/poor swing...it just happens

When I grew up as kid/teenager, 60's-70's... I remember being told that breaking your tee meant that

you hit a good tee shot...

I just bought a thousand 3" Stinger tees for around $30... they are the real skinny ones... I like them because they go into hard ground easier and have really sharp points which double as groove cleaners... They also have a cool red "S" printed inside the cup...

 

They do break more often than regular tees, but a thousand ought to last me a while...

 

They claim the ball goes farther, same as zero friction but that is BS...

get some zero frictions, they will last you forever

Are those the ones with the three prongs on top vs. the "cup"?

 

If so, how durable are they? Seems pricey for tees unless they're indestructable...

I find the three prong ones at the driving range but the not the ones with the cup that looks more like a crown. The three prong ones appear to be incredibly strong but I broke one that I found yesterday. It could have been old. They really are not that pricey. I would guess one lasts at least 20 ball strikes or more.

Haha....Funny....I have both wooden Zero Friction and plastic. Both are 3 1/4" .... I ALWAYS seem to break my tee almost every drive, whether it's wood or plastic. None of what the "pros teachers" are saying seem to make sense. I'm not swinging down, I feel my drive results are decent for a 59 year old (230-240 when it gets out there) and ball flight is good. I'm not worm burning my drives. I AM wondering if the length of tee is why they're breaking? Maybe the fact that half the tee is secured into the ground is the reason it never seems to pop out like the pros? Anyone have thoughts?

Been using these for a couple years, carry 1 in my pocket and they last for weeks of golf.  One of the prongs breaks off before the shaft snaps.  Only time I’ve snapped the shaft is when it’s really cold.
