Nike Blades - Altering Loft

Anyone on here have any experience de-lofting a set of nike blades? I would really like to keep the lofts standard to what i'm used to. 49* PW, on up. That would mean bending every iron at least one degree stronger.

It wouldn't be an issue to do it, just keep in mind that you will also change the bounce angles. Any club maker with a loft and lie machine should be able to do it with easy since they are forged.

As TM golf guy 182 says, there's no issue in achieving it.

 

The only thing you might want to consider is that for every 1 degree you make them stronger, you'll also reduce the bounce by 1 degree. You'll also increase the offset slightly but chances are, it won't be noticable.

 

I'm not sure of the bounce specs on Nike blades but you may want to check them just to make sure you're happy before going ahead mate.

Thanks guys...i understand that it will decrease the bounce and increase the loft. I guess what I was wondering was if anyone has actually done this to their nike blades before, and how did they look and play. If it's going alter the look (i.e a noticible increase in offset) then i can just adjust to the loss of distance and higher ball flight. Im really picky about how my clubs look at setup.

If you bend them 1 or 2 degrees strong, I doubt you'll actually notice the difference visually. It will increase the offset but I don't think you'll spot it.

It's easier to adjust the Nike blades than it is to fall over whilst drunk.

 

I've bent my wedge 1 degree weak and I can't discern any difference in bounce angle or in offset.

They bend quite easily. I have had two sets and had to adjust loft/lie on both to my preferences. Easy job.

I think I'm going to look into having my local clubmaker bend em strong. I'm tired of taking one more club and choking down on every shot to hit it the right distance with a trajectory im comfortable with (found that doing that makes up almost perfectly for the 1/2 club shortage).

FYI: The Nike Blades are standard with a 49* PW. So all you would need is to have someone to check the lofts and see if they are all correct. So since the Nike Blade is designed around the 49* PW you bounce is not effected.

Sorry, i meant i wanted my set start with a 48 degree pw.
