Grips

Hi, I have always played with Lamkin crossline grips however I am feeling like it is time for a change.

Therefore I am asking for suggestions as to what is worth trying. I do not want full cords but halfs and anything else is fine.

what feature are you after that is lacking in the crosslines or what is it that you would like more or less of in a grip?. I did this but in reverse. I when from some Winn G8 grips to some crosslines because the Winn grips are a huge pain to clean cause you are not supposed to "saturate them" otherwise it riuns the inner layer of polymer according to winn. Well that pretty much ment the old soap and water routine is out the window.

I'd say try some dual durometer or DD2 or maybe the new decade from Golf pride.

Definitely try the new Lamkin Crossline Tours. Not the kevlar based shock absorbing ones, the new Tours with the orange line fill. I love mine.

Like you, I played crosslines for years, as Lamkin had a couple of tour players that they were making a 16th under-sized for. Switched to Golf Prides V55 (non-cord) about three years ago and have never looked for anything else.

The new Lamkin Crossline Tours sound interesting and also the V55. I will continue hunting.

Any more suggestons would be great. Also has anyone tried the iomic grips?

The Iomic sticky grips are nice.

If you have the scratch, I'd recommend them.

Personally I play lamkin crosslines in my woods, but I really like golf pride tour wrap grips for my irons/wedges.

Nice and affordable like the crosslines as well.

i switched to them from full cords - they have a silky smooth feel, but also firm underneath so no twisting on impact

i love em, also fitted a few for my mates and they love them too - i got the black and yellow's

I would not overlook the golf pride tour velvet, I know it's cheap, and I can afford to play any grip I want, but I really like the tour velvet even over the iomic.

I am a huge fan of the GP Decade Multi-Compounds. The top is cord, but doesn't feel like it. Besides, you can pick a distinctive color if you like that. I went to these after using tour velvets for a long time. I tried the Winn G8s and did not like them. They felt great when first put on, but quickly wore out and would get slippery very quickly as well. Basically, I had to clean them all the time.

One thing I have to add here is that there are a large number of tour players using them. I would give this credence, because tour players are not being payed to use certain grips. Clubs, balls and clothing yes, grips no.

I use to have the Lamkin Crosslines on all my clubs but I switched to the Golf Pride Tour Velvets this season. I switched for multiple reasons. 1. The GP's are .600 compared to .580 for the Lamkins so they don't feel as big, 2. The GP weigh about 10 grams less than the Lamkins, and 3. The wear spots from my right thumb on the Lamkin's is more noticiable due to the white paint fill they put on them.
