Golf Course between Prattville AL and Atlanta Airport

Hey guys, heading down to the RTJ Trail at end of Feb and looking for some advice for courses on our last day. Staying in Pratville Sunday night, flying out of Atlanta Monday pm, so we are looking for a course to play on the way to the airport. I have done research on here regarding courses but not quite sure of their location. Needless to say we will be leaving Prattville very early but would like a course closer to the Atlanta Airport. Any suggestions? Most of us are 2-10 handicaps and would rather stay away from any dog tracks. Doesn't have to be the best or most expensive, just a decent course with shower facilities etc.. Thanks!

Of the three you listed, I would definately go with the Frog. Great course carved out of the middle of nowhere. Another consideration would be The Lion in Bremen. A little less expensive than the Frog and a great challenging course.

If you're not going to play the RTJ courses somewhat enroute at Grand National, then the Frog at the Georgian is by far the best course for value, condition, challenge, and pace of play given your cap levels. I've done the Alabama trail 3 years in a row up until last year, and bookended the frog on the last day when we flew out of Atlanta. We did bookend Wolf Creek the first year and were disappointed -it gets a fair bit of traffic- seeing as you are from the GTA area like me, I would compare Wolf Creek to Don Valley/Shawneeki/Station Creek maybe stretching it to Nobelton Lakes. The Frog is closer to a National Pines, Angus Glen South, Osprey Valley experience

Play The Frog. It is on the way (just off I-20) and is one of my favorite courses. Bear's Best is way up here near me, northeast of Atlanta, and is just about as far from the airport and the Alabama side of Atlanta as you can get.

I realize I'm late to this thread but next time you're down, if you want cheap golf at a place that is underrated, try Emerald Mountain in Wetumpka. Golf plus cart is something like $30 but it's a great layout. Grass condition isn't tops right now because of what the economy will let the owners do, but it is a challenge and very lightly played. No shower facilities that I'm aware of, though.

ON EDIT: Emerald Mountain declared bankruptcy this week (5/24/09). The back nine remains open but the front nine is closed due to the fact the bankruptcy filing happened to coincide with a major rain/flood event we had here that washed out at least one hole on the front side. If you're planning to play the course, I would call ahead first.
