Played 18 holes with the Nike Ignite ball and all I can say is wow! This ball is long! My buddy also tried them and got to a par 5 in two with driver 5 wood that he has never reached before. Usually play ProV1 but these may take the place of them. Felt soft off the irons and enough spin to hold greens, not quite ProV1 spin but that is to be expected. I have tried pretty much every ball out there, and this is the longest, better in my opinion by far over the HX Hot, NXT Tour and other mid priced balls. Just my opinion.

I played a round yesterday with them, and thought they were garbage. Probably at least 15 yards shorter than my Bridgestone B330's. Not to sound overly critical, but they feel like the Top Flite's that I find out on the course that I "remove" with my trusty 5W.

Of course that's just my opinion. It says Nike on it so I'm sure tons of people will love them.

I agree, if you have game, the one black and one platinum, are two of the best balls on the market, but there not for the average joe, you need alot of game to get the performence out of these balls, I suspect the ignite delivers this performance without the game neccessary for the black and platinum. I'm willing to bet this is a very good ball, for the mid handicap golfer. I've been genuinely impressed by nike in the past two or three years, I'd say after the pro V1 and V1X, the next ball the pros and better players I compete with play is nike, this ball I assume is no different

I love the new model. It still flies and it spins a bit. I haven't hit it against the older model but I will try that friday. This is the ball for me this year, it's hands down better than the Juice, Fire, and NXT.

I have been using the new Ignites for about 4 months. I previously had been using the B330 or HX Tour but felt that the standard of my game had dropped so significantly (hcp +2 to hcp 2) that it did not warrant the extra cost so downgraded my ball choice to the cheaper Ignite.

After using them now for 4 months, I think I will be hard pressed to return to the B330 or HX Tour. I find the ball does exactly what I want. It is super long and does not spin too much. Spin is a problem for me with all my clubs and even the new ProV1x sucks back 15 - 20 feet with anything less than a 7 iron.

I find the ball spins sufficiently on full shots and around the green. I especially like the trajectory I get off the driver.

Not only the best value for money ball I have used but for me one of the best balls overall. I really really like it and while I would not go as far as saying it is better than the HX Tour, B330 or TM Black, it certainly performs sufficiently well for me as a battling weekend golfer.

I find them to be an excellent 'Winter Ball'.... when the greens are cold, the conditions are colder and damp and you just don't want to waste Pro V1's on meaningless non-competition golf.....

Long and straight, and stop nicely on the winter greens...only thing i would say is there is a loss of feel from a top grade ball (pro V1, HX Tour, Nike One) but then you'd expect that when the ball is half the price of them....

I'm a fan of both the old version and the new. The new version which came out in 2007, is harder than the older version. It has a slightly higher trajectory too. I'd say it is now more of a HX Hot with some feel. It used to be softer-feeling and spin a bit more with the wedges. Both are really playable, and while the old ones are on clearance, scoop them up, they're a good deal for the $$ and they play more like a Nike One Black for a slightly slower swing-speed. The new ones are good, and a solid rival to HX Hot, Trispeed, e6+, Burner TP, and NXT Tour. In the middle of the pack for soft feel and spin. I like the trajectory of these over the others. It's not as high as most of the balls in this mid-level category. For a long ball, it is ahead of most rivals with the putter.

Yes, I agree. They are hard now. I just found and bought brand new 2006's...(the older model)...and after playing a few rounds can say for sure that the cover got harder on the new one. The new one is now relegated to the middle of the pack in a crowded field of mid-priced balls. The previous version is as good as NXT Tour or any other. It's much softer, you can actually see the marks on the cover when you pure it with a wedge. Grab them while they're still around. The new one would never show groove marks. Simply, the 2007 version is considerably harder. I prefer the previous Ignite (2006)...over the new one... AND over everything else in the category.

Feel is an interesting topic to discuss, obviously opinions differ. I think the box on the 2007 model(I threw it out) states that it has improved feel over the previous model and it certainly felt that way to me as well. I recently bought a box after not having played them since they first came out and was once again reminded of what a quality, all around mid priced ball it is. The Hot Bite and TM Burner TP might be a touch longer, the Hote Bite spins much better but isn't as durable. Overall, I put this solidy in the race with the two mentioned along with the NXT Tour for overall performance in that class of balls. I'm hoping that Callaway will add some durability to the Hot Bite next year, that would make it #1 for me.
