adding weight to putters

can weight be added to puter by placing them inside the shaft - bottom - perhaps 10-30 gms ... as plugs or something??

I believe you can install a weight plug in the bottom of a shaft if it's not already installed in the head or if you pull it out and then reinstall it. My clubmaker was able to put lead powder down the shaft and then plug it with a cork to increase my swingweight after cutting my putter down. I believe they also sell tungsten powder to achieve the same results. Check out golfworks.com, they sell both types of powder as well as a swingweight kit that has lead powder and plugs for $30.
