Can it record practice greens

I know the Sky Caddie allows you to record your own course but can it record a practice facility.

I have a course nearby with a real nice practice facility. It has several greens at different distances and was wondering if the sky caddie can record the practice range greens??

Yes. However, it appears that you need to input the distance. If you "cycle" thru, you'll see the prompt for "driving range."

The reason I would record the practice facility into the Scky caddie is to KNOW the distances to the greens.

 

If I already know them, then there's no use for the caddie.

It does not defeat the purpose. When no one is at the range you take your Sky Caddie out and "mark" the center of each of the targets on the range. You then have them saved for any time you go to the range. You will have an accurate yardage whether the tees are forward or back or you are the far right or left of the teeing area. I think that this is one of the best uses of the Sky Caddie.

So When "acrazygolfer " said you have to input the distances - they meant you have to be on the green and then press "mark" And that will save that corrdinate?

 

I thought he meant that you type in 190 or 210 yards.

Not "mark" since it is used to measure distance between where the ball was struck and where it landed and it is not "permanent." You'd have to be in the recording mode for set up the driving range. Sorry for not being more precise with the last comment.

I understand. As long as you go on the greens and record the distances, then no matter where you are on the course the caddie will give you the distance. Cool. I like it.

 

I think it will be nice for me becuase there are about 10 local courses that play.

You should find out how many of those are already completed because you can get a lot more features depending on how detailed each course is done. For $30 a year you can get unlimited courses in your state so it might not be a bad way to go.
