Returning SkyCaddie

Possible bad keyboard...

Well I booted up my SkyCaddie 2.5 this morning to load a course on to it and it started up fine and was able to check what courses I had on it. I hooked it up synced it and it installed the updates and I loaded the courses that I wanted on it and then booted it up and it get stuck at the start up page. I cant get passed it.

So I called SkyCaddie and didnt wait hardly at all and got a nice lady and she had me try a couple of things and they didnt work. So I have to send it in with no warranty and could cost $35-$100 to fix and anything above $100 they dont repair.

So my question is, has anyone sent one in and how long did it take to get back if repairable?

A friend's 2.5 went belly up this spring. He sent it in and it was quite awhile before he got it back, at least a month maybe 6 weeks. It was a broken antenna.

Yes, I just sent in my 2 month old SG5 when it just stopped getting a signal from any satellites. They made every effort over the phone to fix it with firmware updates, downgrading it to an SG2.5, etc but ultimately I had to send it in. They received it on July 3rd and I got a replacement on July 13th, not too bad but I missed using it for my course's annual medal tournament. My buttons were acting weird from day one, I just didn't know any better. I have a new serial number so I presume mine was a clunker from the beginning. I think a 90 day warranty is paltry on a device that costs as much as they do but....anyway, they were super quick on getting mine back to me, FWIW.

Well I mailed it in today so we shall see what happens and how long it will take. I hope they can fix it because I dont know if I would be able to purchase a new one. I can afford a fix but not a new one.
