I was fit into an ALDILA NV.....

(I really don't care too much for the shaft!)
During a recent launch monitor fitting I was fit into an ALDILA NV 85-S shaft for my driver! I'm not complaining about it, the numbers are good, however......

Is there another shaft (or shafts) out there that are equivilent to this shaft in tip stiffness and butt stiffness and weight and isn't in that "PUKE GREEN" color (or PINK)?!

I also have a tendancy to hit some "lefts" with the NV shaft with some experience with it in the past. (A mental thing!)

I would like to know what is the next best thing out there in the same weight?

Personally I have found the NV 65-X to work very well for me, and have had similar success with the Accuflex Evolution S, untipped. (Evo is a very stout shaft!)

Which Grafalloy Comp NT shaft? The 65 or the 85? (They seem to have diff. specs.)

Also, what about the Harrison Pro 2.5 70, 80, or 90? Are these any good? Someone must know!

I have the Comp NT 85 in a driver right now. I've never really cared for the NV's as far as feel. The NT 85 gives me a mid trajectory, boring flight, but still feels fairly smooth. It's not the smoothest shaft I've played, but I like it better than the NV's anyway.

I also have the UST V2 75 in another driver. Same ballflight, smoother feel. It's school bus yellow though, so not sure it's what you have in mind! :golfer:

What about a Tour Spec 757? Nice, simple black. Similar to the NV with MUCH better feel.

i feel for ya... i've been forced fitted with something before that pissed me off. u gotta find what you like... you'll hit it WAY better.

I agree with this statement. It's a trial and error process to find what you like. Just because you get the numbers with something doesn't necessarily mean it's going work for you. It's just a place to start. Everyone is different as to what feels good to them. I personally really like the feel and performance I get with the heavier weight NV's. I think it is a great shaft if it fits you. On the other hand there are also alot of other great shafts out there that may give you what you are looking for. The main key that I have found is finding the right shaft for a particular head. A shaft that works great in one head may not be worth a sh!t in another. It can be frustrating but the more you mess with it the more you will learn what you like and what you don't.

Case in point- I usually get fit into a ProLaunch 65 R or S, but I hit the Penley STEALTH 70 (which is supposedly low launch) the best (at least in that Alpha rx460 head).

I have a ProLaunch 65 R is an Adams 400cc Redline head that is inconsistent and a little whippy (might be tip stiffness differences that account for it).

Also, keep in mind that different drivers have different head weights (Nike's tend to be a little heavy), so that affects shaft choice as well.
